Waiters has been okay. And if he were to maintain his current pace then it will work out.

But if he continues to take this many shot and with any regression to the mean he's going to become a problem.

I would agree. A good percentage of his shots are open jumpers right now which will always help the overall percentage. He still does some ridiculous one on one forcing a tough shot but sometimes those are the shots you have to take and make when you are up against the clock.

I'm not sold obviously at this point since its a small sample...just encouraged (mainly by his defensive effort).

BTW, Chop...I had a 4.5 hour layover in Salt Lake yesterday so I walked around. Man, what a beautiful city it is. Went to temple square, saw where the Jazz play, another place that I think was called city center and also the galivan. It was Sunday night so it was dead out but still what a great city.

SLC is definitely a hidden gem. It's not a place for everybody, but there is a really strong culture there and you are so close to Park City and Sundance that it also allows you a bit of the sophisticated culture if you want it.

I love Utah. I'm not excited to leave here in a couple of months.

I never said I was sold on it. I think he still played competitive defense last night which is what you need from someone who is having trouble offensively.

Guys are going to have rough performances. I'm fine with that. The Thunder are deep enough so that a guy can have a bad performance and someone like Reggie Jackson can step up and have a big game. As long as Durant can stay on the floor the Thunder are going to win a lot of games. Nobody will want to play them come postseason time.

I got arrested last Monday and had the people I saw were wearing NBA clothing. What does that say about the NBA? 90% weren't even our cities team. One Dud had the Celtics mascot tattoo's on the back of his head.

What are you implying it says?

What are you implying that I am implying? I asked a Co worker who was arrested a few weeks before me, he said he noticed the same thing.

This is what you came to post in the NBA tread about?

You seem to think that basketball attracts a more deadbeat fan?

The facts seem to imply that. I am more looking for a reason not to think it.

Well the NBA attracts more African Americans and African Americans have a higher incarceration rate. It's fairly intuitive. You don't even need to stay a night in prison to understand this.

Also, I hope prison wasn't too rough. Doesn't sound like a good time at all.

The "facts"? Do you mean your observations?

Yes. The fact is that half the people I saw in jail while going thru processing had NBA clothing on and my coworker noticed the same thing weeks earlier when he was arrested. Could just be a huge coincidence......

What did you get arrested for? What was your co-worker in for?

I was arrested for 7 unpaid traffic tickets. I got time served and got to make a great 3 minute speech about why I won't pay then a dime to the judge. My coworker ' s case is that his 14 year old step daughter said she went into his bedroom to wake him up to tell him she was leaving for school and that he asked her to show him her breasts. CPS actually cleared him and if you know anything about CPS you know they don't clear people very often. I haven't ever seen her personally but everyone including his wife, my boss, and the lawyer they took her to said she is clearly lying. Anyways, they told him they were going to issue a warrant for his arrest and he couldn't afford to make bond so I paid it which was 1000. Then one day a cop shows up at our job and arrests him like he was taking down a serial killer. Threatening to shoot him multiple times and taunting him despite him not resisting or disobeying him. Come to find out the bail bonds place under charged him. Was supposed to be 3k. No one cared to inform him so he could post the correct bail before getting arrested. According to him the detective told him that they know the charges won't stick but they knew he couldn't afford bail so they issued an arrest warrant just to **** him. He spent 2 weeks in jail until his wife brought the girl to be interviewed by a lawyer who interviewed her and told her that her husband was innocent. He said all he had to do was request the tape of the CPS interview and that it wouldn't even make it passed a grand jury.........but they have to pay him 5k first. The lawyer gave them 3 months to come up with the money and he is delaying the case for them. I posted the rest of the bail and he is trying to save up the money. He is short about 1500 right now. Today he told me the girl said she is going to "lie' to the grand jury so he doesn't go to jail. He has no communication with her, this is through her mom.

The people wearing the NBA clothing were pretty evenly split between white/hispanic/black although blacks were the majority of people I saw. I was surprised how many officers were black. Most officers were up front with us and reasonably respectful, all the ones that weren't were fat black women. If there is a hell it's being in a prison with all fat black women as guards. The fatter they were the worse their attitude was. Only other issue was everything you sit on is concrete or metal. It was my first time in jail so it was amusing to me. One guy in a holding cell next to me called his mom and dad and was berating them for not bailing him out. There was a girl in a wheelchair who as flipping out for a few hours that was mildly entertaining. Another guy was using the free pay phone in the holding tank to get some drugs for when he got out. Wasn't that bad, it was worth it just for the speech I got to give to the judge and gaining some insight into how jail/arrest works for the future. I have been so good at staying out that I had no idea how jail actually worked.
