NBA Thread

I'm rooting for exum.

A starting five of exum/burks/Hayward/Favors/Gobert can make some noise. Too bad it's in thenWest.

Which is reason #1 why I'm rooting hard for the playoff realignment that Silver has been alluding to. I can envision a world where the Jazz are a top 16 team in a year or two.

Jazz have a lot of assets. I have to imagine they will cash them in eventually for a good piece to augment their young core.

Yes please let some more guys leave Utah. The Hawks will welcome them with open arms.

I do like Gobert, Favors, heyward. Their problem is similar to what a lot of teams that play in places no one wants to plan in; you have to build a young core of 2-3 superstar players through the draft because you aren't signing and holding on to the top players in the league so you have to overpay vets to convince them to play in Utah.

I think it depends on the type of person but the NBA has changed. You can play in a small market and still be a marketable star. Utah is probably a beautiful place.

I lived in NY my whole life. I have no clue why anyone would want to come here to play.

Silver so far has been an awesome commish. He definitley seems serious about making some of these changes.

Bron / KD / Rose / Melo / etc those guys will get endorsement money no matter where they go but those guys are also never signing in Utah. Utah has to trade for one of those types and hope they resign with them.

Fair enough. While money was a factor in the discussions it sure didn't help the Thunder that Pau didn't like OKC.

Adreian Payne has been traded to the Timberwolves for a future first-round pick.

Payne only managed to play in a total of three games for the Hawks, putting in a total of five points, four rebounds, one steal, and one 3-pointer through 19 minutes of action. He'll certainly have more opportunity for playing time on a rebuilding Timberwolves squad, but owners in most leagues can use a wait-and-see approach with the rookie.

Geez rubio is going to have fun with all these athletes.

Gary Neal I'd probably going to be a Hawk soon.

So happy for him. The Hawks are a poorly run franchise and he would have never played there. Not saying the Wolves are a much better run team, but at least he will get on the court in Minnesota.

What a waste of a pick. Dude was 4 year college player that fits the mold of exactly the guy they want and he still can't play.

Yeah he saw action in three games, but he is a wasted pick because he can't play? He never had a ****ing chance to play.
