Also.. 49/16/10 is one of the most ridiculous stat lines I've ever seen. I don't care how many shots he took. That's mothereffing INSANE.

I'm coming around on this Russ for MVP thing. And I don't even like him.

Well they've already called two phantom foul-calls for him so far this game.

I didn't see any replays on the fouls the crowd was pissed off on. But Westbrook gets hit so often throughout the course of hte game I believe that a lot of the calls he gets are makeup calls.

Considering their similar styles, and the amount of punishment Rose takes, I wish he benefited from similar treatment.

Rose hasn't played like this since his first injury.

You haven't watched the Bulls enough this year, I guess. He played more cautious, generally, but he'd play frenetic, flying into the paint, for quarters or halves at a time, getting pummeled but receiving nary a call. And even before his injuries, Rose never had the referees in his corner; it's always been a very legitimate gripe of Bulls fans.

Meanwhile: Chicago just missing wide open shots. OKC's defense has been pretty poor tonight, but the Bulls are just not making them pay.

No, I don't watch the Bulls as often as you do but I'd like to think I've seen a representative sampling of what Rose plays like.

I would counter that you haven't seen Westbrook play as much as I do becaues his reckless abandon for his body is consistent on every play without regard to his knees.

Bulls are so well coached. Everybody on that team knows what they are supposed ot do on the floor. That management group would be stupid to let Thibs go.

I'm not claiming that Westbrook gets too many calls, though, so it doesn't really matter how much I watch him; I'm claiming Rose doesn't get enough calls. And, as gilesfan mentions, ditto Wall—and a lot of guards that go to the hole with abandon.

In general, I loathe this system of having to "earn," then receiving regularly, "superstar" calls. If a guy drives to the basket and is pummeled by defenders, he should be standing at the line as a result of the play, regardless of the name on his jersey; or, conversely—if your tastes swing this way—superstars shouldn't get any benefits for getting hacked and hit that an end-of-bench guy doesn't.
