They are over the cap anyway. Even with the efirst round pick it would almost be impossible to construct a trade since they have no trade exceptions.

And if none of the big 3 miss significant time this year I would place a bet and say they will absolutely win over 60 games this year.

You could make a trade. You could move Collison or Augustin with the first rounder (plus the 5.5 million you wouldn't owe Waiters) and upgrade the roster. Right now you can't because you don't have any tradeable assets (aside from the ones you would want to keep), but you would have been able to without the Waiters trade.

I don't think you can make a trade when you are over the cap. I could be wrong about that. I think you need a trade exception and those cannot be combined with any other players.

Dion's 5.5, Novak's 4, and Collison's 4 all could have been moved with Dion's not being there in the first place.

Of course, you can't move bad assets for good assets without draft picks to trade... Which again is my point. The Waiters trade was not good. There is no silver lining to draw from unless he breaks out which is as likely as Jeff Francoeur breaking out at this point.

Thunder are never trading Collison. That is a non conversation starter. He will be on the organization payroll for the next 50 years.

I think the Thunder are much further over the cap where even with those pieces they still couldn't make a trade happen. They are all in for this season to show KD that this it he place to stay to carve out his HOF career.

Lebron is opting out of his contract. Will probably re-sign with the Cavs but he is waiting to see how FA unfolds.

Sounds to me like he is trying to force the Cavs hand to fire Blatt.

It has nothing to do with Blatt, he's signing another 1 year deal so he can sign a 5 year 170 mil max deal under the new TV deal and salary cap.

Doesn't make sense to sign a one year deal after opting out of his current deal that lasts one more season.

You know what... For how great OKC's roster is outside of Durant they sure didn't play all that well last year without him.

Not many teams would when you lose your best player for 55 games.

They played alot of teams close until Russ got tired.

Whats the point of opting out if he'll get pretty much the same as he did before?

Because he gets an extra 3 million or so by opting out.

Sure, 3 million dollars is the motivation behind this move. The man who will be the wealthiest athlete of all time really needs that extra 3 million. This move has everything to do with putting pressure on Gilbert to fire Blatt. This is the Lebron way.

You're so naïve, it's cute.

What will you say when Bron resigns and Blatt is still there? Just curious

Very low key and irrelevant move but Alan Anderson is opting out of his deal. I think he would be a nice addition for any team that could use a wing upgrade on their bench. Guy is an underrated solid player.

Would love him coming off the bench. He's a smart player and could learn Atlanta's system very quickly. That being said the Hawks won't sign him or anyone that matters though.

Looks like NY is gonna blow their cap room on Monroe, West, and Afflalo- top 3 team in the East per giles.
