Its a shame Kanter may be a detriment to that.

I dont believe so because KD and RW are going to love finally having a big that can catch their passes and finish. Expect KD to have over 6 assists per game this year if he is healthy and plays 30+ mins a night.

Everyone is focusing on Kanter's awful defense and good reason. But for some reason nobody talks about his elite offensive skillet from the center postion.

Kanter might not even be on the floor if Adams is worth a ****. With Ibaka/RD/RW; do you really want a all offense/zero defense guy out there? At some point, it's overkill. The value added of another offensive guy isn't the level it would be if a team didn't already have a bunch of scorers. And Kanter kills a team that's already not good defensively.

Thunder have historically been a really good defensive team. If you are using last year's injury disaster then I'm not sure what to say.

It's not offensive overkill because Kanter is the exact kind of big you want to per with elite pnr wing players. Ibaka is a really good three point shooter so he spaces the floor on one end. Kanter is incredibly skilled on offense And Rws performance last year with him on the floor showed how valueable he can bE. And, if you want to run pnr with Ibaka then Kanter can space the floor as well.

Yeah, I was kind of wrong on tha as well. That Celtics trade was beyond awful. However. I actually like what the Nets have done and they are actually in a position to be a strong player for KD next offseason.

hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahha

Please tell me which bigs in the NBA have a better more More muti facitated offersive game than Kanter.

Centers/PF's with higher O-Win Shares than Kanter:

DAJ

Pau

Davis

Tyson

Jonas V

Marc Gasol

Horford

Gobert

Timmy

Brook

Nikola

Tyler Zeller

Gortat

LOL like half that list are limited offensive players.

I don't agree that all of them are better but that is just judging players based on offense, with OWS.

I would take Pau / AD / Marc / Horford / Timmy / Brook / Nikola over Kanter

So offensive and defensive win shares are the best Stats. It's hard to follow nowadays.

And pekovic is extremely limited offensivelu. You can't run PnR with him.

Oh...that was vicevic. Well, he is a pretty good player so I'm not going to waste time arguing.

Either way, your opinion is that 7 guys are better so you have Kanter 8th and I have him somewhere in the top 5.

You also named guys who aren't as well rounded of an offensive player as Kanter and almost all of them are older than him. You are starting to make an argument that it's good to keep such a talented young offensive big man.

It would be a good idea if he wasn't by far the worst defensive player in the game and getting a max deal. He's not even like "ah, he's just bad, but you can overlook it." He's a "its a train wreck and a layup drill"

Well there are others that I would take like:

LMA
Boogie
Bosh
Al Jeff (Healthy)

And then more strictly PF's like Blake, ZBo and Love

Agreed...his defense is disgusting right now. My hope is that he can improve yo being bad while still being one of the best offensive bigs in the league.

Hopefully he will be surrounded by historically three really good borderline elite defensive players, well Ibaka is elite already, and they are able to mask some of his egregious defensive deficiencies.

Kanter has a very interesting offensive skill set that I'm willing to see through. I think he is going to make the game much easier for KD and RW next year. Even if the Thunder are middle of the pact defensively I feel strongly about them being the best offensive team in basketball next season.

Ok, so offensive win shares then aren't good. Come on man, be consistent.

Of course I'd take the following m9ving forward over Kanter offesively:

Boogie (easily the best IMO)
Davis
Blake
Marc Gasol
LMA

Other than those guys you are talking about players who aren't the well rounded offensive player that Kanter is or are old and on their last legs.

Im not sure you guys realize how good Kanter was offensively whem he finally got paired with a better than awful PG.

Everyone knows how good he can be on O, everyone.....problem is he's actually the worst defensive big in basketball and he's extremely selfish and a horrible team player. Again, go look at his assist numbers once the ball is dumped to him in the post.

And once he was surrounded by better offensive players in a better situation he started getting better at finding hisnteammates.

This theory that KD is an elite defensive player or anywhere close to elite is completely wrong. Where do you even get that?

By watching a lot of basketball and almost every thunder game. I just hope his foot injury doesn't sap his agility and leaping ability.
