NBA Thread

I certainly would not say they have one of the best young cores in the game. They have the same problem teams like the Hawks/Celtics have; they have a bunch of good players, but they don't have elite ceilings. They don't have anyone on the level of the stars that the Spurs/Cavs/Warriors have. Granted, Drummond, Jackson, and Harris are pretty good players and Pope/Johnson have some pretty good potential, but stars win in the NBA.

Agreed. They feel like they are missing a core player or two, but I like what Stan has done.

Using the Celtics example, if they would have signed Durant; it was a wildly successful roster development. Without it, they are a pretty good mid to upper level East team. Same logic applies unless one of their young players turns into one of the top 10 players in the game.

The point is there are only two teams who have any chance of winning a title in the NBA. That makes for a very bad league from a competitive standpoint.

Can I give up on Beal yet or are people going to keep telling me how young he is and that he will be a star?

He's still a 40% three point shooter, who shoots 5 threes a game . I don't follow Washington enough to know his limitations, but that's a really solid base to build off of. Maybe not a star, but really valuable.

On the surface, Washington is weird. This is back to back years where they have regressed when convention wisdom would suggest an uptick. Hard to figure that team out.

Something just isn't right with the team. They have some young guys that are good players (or good talent) and some vets that are productive.....but, they can't win. I wish they would just blow it up, get some pieces for Wall/Beal while you can. Let Oubre learn on the fly with a couple young guys and take the high picks. This team as it is constructed has no chance at a title. Not without a superstar next to Wall.

Days like today make me miss thethe. I know he would be going on about how great Sabonis is.

He's basically McGary without the drugs which is pretty good.

I'm optimistic about the Thunder but in reality the best case scenario is a 6 game series in the second round of the playoffs.

I was right about Adams though.....

How good is Embid?

If Simmons is good all of a sudden the 76ers are a team to be reckoned with in the future.

Embid is crazy talented. It's kinda interesting to see how inefficient he is for a big man though. He's been very high volume with tons of turnovers. Young though so I'm sure he will get much better.

They are far off though. Look at the Twolves and they are further ahead with better talent.

His true shooting percentage is at around .6 IIRC.

The turnovers IMO is just him getting used to the speed of the game but his talent is truly revolutionary. Its like Hakeem with a 3 point shot. I just hope he stays healthy.

The t-Wolves need a more dynamic PG. I was dead wrong about Rubio thats for sure.
