NBA Thread

I'm far from Felton's biggest fan but to call him a scrub is just wrong. 14/3/5.5 last year on 36% shooting from 3.

He was horrible in Portland but he's not the same player, he's always played well on the Knicks.

BTW, I did not realize that the Nets sign Alan Anderson. What is he the 11th or 12th man off the bench? Damn, that team is DEEP!

Agreed. People don't realize just how dominant the Thunder were last year. I think they would have beat the Heat last year because of how much of a drag Wade and Bosh were. KD/RW were incredible last year.

LOL

38% shooter......Stud chucker....'SHIP BABY.

I didn't say he is any good but he just might be the best 11th or 12th man in basketball. That isn't really a high standard to be met.

Who is the Knicks 11th or 12th guy?

Moreover: many don't realize or don't accept just how dominant the Bulls were with Derrick Rose.

I know the first few months of his individual play might be a bit unsteady, but if Rose can start rounding into form around Christmas I really think the Bulls can make it to the Finals, especially now that Thibodeau's matured a bit as a head-coach and Forman's added a bit more three-point shooting to the team. I also wouldn't be surprised to see the Bulls finish with the best regular-season record next year, just because Thibodeau doesn't know how to punt a game (he's the anti-Fredi), while Miami is likely to rest several of their best players, and certainly Wade, significantly down the stretch.

Before I answer this, what is the point of comparing 11th and 12th men on the bench who don't play?

This is so stupid....OMG THE NETS HAVE THE BEST GUY IN THE NBA WHO IS GONNA PLAY 3 MINUTES PER GAME

OHHHHHH MYYYYYYY GAWWWWWDDD

Ability to weather a rash of injuries.

Yeah, the Bulls team is loaded. Jimmy Butler is going to be a beast next year. I really hope Noah finds a way to stay healthy. He is my favorite non Thunder player.

The emergence of Butler is huge, and even a bit surprising to Bulls fans who closely follow the team, given Butler's age, draft-position, and the rapidity with which he's shown himself to be a legitimate player. Butler's always been a superlative defender, with the quickness to defend SGs along with the length and strength to lock-down SFs, but with increased playing time he displayed solid ball-handling, a really excellent ability to draw and sink FTs, and a surprisingly good three-point stroke that improved the more he played (and, amongst Bulls fans, three-point shooting was the one thing thought to potentially hold him back as a possible starting SG alongside Luol Deng). And just to reiterate – since it's really the key on a Thibodeau team – he's a really damn good defender (who'll be playing next to one of the better defensive SFs in the NBA).

So far, Rose's primary back-court mates have been Ben Gordon, followed by a couple seasons of some combination of Ronnie Brewer / Kyle Korver / CJ Watson. It's going to be really nice to watch Derrick play next to an SG who isn't severely compromised in one way or the other.

Who are the Heat, Thunder, Rockets, Spurs, Pacers 12th men?

For the Thunder, not as good as Alan Anderson. You are looking at guys like Orton/Liggins (but will probably be cut because of his recent legal trouble).

I don't think they would have, just don't matchup well with the Heat.

And no HCA is huge but I guess we will never know.
