Western Conference scout on trying to pinpoint a favorite in the West:
"All the top teams in the West are flawed. Everybody has something wrong with them. But I'm still going with Oklahoma City. I've said it before and I'll say it again: No one has two guys who can close games out like their two guys.
"And they're at a point where they like doing it ... where they thrive on it. Whatever you want to talk about when it comes to the playoffs last year, just make sure you keep in the back of your mind that [Kevin] Durant was on his own because [Russell] Westbrook wasn't there. And he's that good. He made a lot of teams' seasons by not playing.
"I'm not there every day in practice. I'm sure there are people who know a lot more than me. But from what I've seen, Westbrook looks good. He's recovered well [from knee surgery].
"And I seem to be in the minority, but I really like Reggie Jackson. Maybe he's not well known, but if he's not, he will be, because he's really improved. He's a threat. He's not a closer, but he's a very confident player. He's not a classic point guard, he's not a classic distributor, but the playoff experience made him better, and he's not afraid to battle with anybody. Maybe it's not quite a Chris Paul/Eric Bledsoe situation, but there's a lot of teams that would like to have him. Especially when you remember where he was picked in the draft (No. 24 overall).
"Jeremy Lamb is quietly making strides, too. I don't know what the ceiling is, but he's inching along. And the wild card is Steven Adams. They could have eight or nine legit guys by the time we get to the playoffs."

So funny this is said the day before the Knicks get blown out by the Celtics and the Thunder blow out the Pacers.
Obviously.....Also Jackson continues to be a stud. Its incredible how much better he got from year 2 to year 3. I hope he is willing to stay in OKC and be a six man type of guy because there will be 10-15 teams that would be looking for him to be a starter for them. The Knicks would be smart to try and get this kid.

I've told you since he came out of BC, I like him BUT you're going over the top. He's helped a ton by being with KD-RW-Ibaka....He's a horrible fit for NY, Knicks need a pass first PG. I think Jackson will be a good pro, non all-star, but will have a solid career.
Yes, a lot of people are helped by the three guys that we have on our team but he is really emerging in his third year just like Harden did. His shooting is improving and he has solid playmaking skills. In addition to that, he is a really good defender. I'm telling you I am seeing a starting player and borderline all star. His numbers per 36 mins are really damn good for a player his age and experience.
Thunder have the highest SOS out of the top teams in the league and IMO have the biggest room for improvement when you consider RW is still getting up to speed and the young players they have (RJ/Lamb/Adams/Jones). It could be a special year and hopefully finally shut the illogical harden trade bashing.

It wont until if they ever win a championship, unfortunate or not.
It is unfortunate because trading Harden was the only thing that they could have done. They got one year out of Kevin Martin that could have resulted in a title if RW doesn't get hurt and 3 first round picks 2 of which look like that could be starters in the league with 1 pick yet to be made.
In addition to what they got they also retrained Ibaka who is a better fit for the team and Jackson might emerge as a better complimentary fit that they hold onto long term. I just hope that if the Thunder do win a title that the guys like Simmons admit they were wrong.

Perkins is easily the worst player in the NBA. The injury killed Maynor. He was never an athletic guy to begin with so the fact that he is even less explosive killed his game. He was damn good for us when he played.
BTW GF, great call on that scrub Reggie Jackson.
