NBA Thread

He averages 38 mins a game as it is. The regular season is almost meaningless. He could rest 3-5 minutes more per gam.

And that could result in a loss.

With Russ out, need to find a way to grind out a win as much as they can right now.

Insane that Durant would play 44 minutes in a game in January. A night after playing 43 minutes. Tuesday he played 41 minutes. He has 1 day of rest.

So he plays 4 games in 6 nights. At least 3 of those he wil play 40 minutes. Dude is gonna be broken down at 32.

LOL, he is averaging 38 minute a night and he is 25. REACHING.

You don't think guys like Kobe and Lebron have done the same thing? Kobe was AVERAGING 40+ minutes per game many years.

Number of seasons with 38+/40+ minutes per game:

Kobe: 11/4

Lebron: 7/4

Durant: 6/0

Be mindful that the majority of these 38+/40+ minute seasons all occur prior to 30. Man, they are running him into the ground!

So the question I have is....When does Durant stop getting better?

Every single year he has improved and while his current play is on level with the greats of all time the man is still 25. Expect even more improvement.

Once he wills his team to win titles like Jordan did.

Thats when he stops getting better?

Sure, Jordan is probably the best player of all time but he played on great teams as well. Its a team game dominated by indviduals. If Westbrook is healthy the Thunder are winning a title this year.

Have you even paid attention to what is going on this year with Durant? His PER cracked 30 and he is graded out as one of the elite defensive players in the game. He is absolutely closing the gap but that gap was pretty large going into the season.

Bron can and does guard 5 positions....KD can guard, 2, maybe....

Shows you just haven't watched KD play at all the last two years. He doesn't have the bulk of Lebron so he can't guard bulky 4's for long periods of time but Brooks puts him on PG (guarded Curry some last night) for streches because he bothers them with his length. KD guards PG/SG/SF/stretch 4's.

Its amazing how clueless you are and it just shows that you comment without watching him or the Thunder play. Again, KD is not as good or better than LEbron but that huge gap that was tehre the last three years is getting smaller. If the season ended today (which of course it doesn't) KD is the MVP.

However, KD is showing that he is a better scorer and rebounder than James. So its not like KD is worse in all areas.

Curry had a huge game.........

KD can't stay with the young, quick PG's....Bron can, bron can go down low and guard anyone. Anyone can guard, anyone for 1-2 minutes....Bron can guard anyone for 40 minutes.

I'm not going back and forth with you, anyone with an OKC jersey you will slob their knob....Bron is the greatest player in the NBA, the best since MJ. No one is close to him...

Durant switched to Curry in the 4th quarter last night and he only got 4 points. He didn't guard him the whole quarter but enjoy that nugget. Watch the games before you comment. KD is closing the gap. He is posting all time numbers right now which can be compared to Lebron. Still not as good but like I said, the gap is closing.

There's a reason he doesn't guard him for more than 2 minutes, it's because he can't. Have KD bang down low with 250 pound guys, stay with lightning quick PGs and see if he still dropping 30 a game. No one is doing or can do what Bron is doing....but hey, if it makes you feel better to say KD got an inch closer in a 50 mile gap, then good for you.

I'm not saying he is on the same level as Lebron defensively. He is a better scorer and rebounder so lets not act like Durant is inferior in every way.

And let's not act like Bron hasn't turned himself into an elite shooter....

KD is scoring 3 points more per game and taking 4 shots more per game.......................

KD is averaging 5 more points a game. And Lebron is not an elite shooter.

Lebron is basically a power forward so a good portion of his buckets are from inside the paint. His numbers are great and he has improve his jump shot but he isn't an elite shooter like Durant/Curry/Korver are. Those are elite shooters. Lebron isn't in that class.

60% of James shots are jumpshots (where his eFG% is .540)
79% of Durants shots are jumpshots (where his eFG% is .489)
