Because he'd be the only player to stay and not go to his hometown where he'd leave for less money. If only Paul George left the Pacers and went to the Lakers where he grew up.

OKC can offer around 5 years, 124 million or something around that range.

Wash or anyone else would be 4 years, 80 million or so.

If he left, it would be for a better TEAM/situation.

How would the Lakers have afforded him?

Yeah, I'm picked OKC as my team to root for, I would hope and pray KD stayed as well. Let's see if the 2nd best player in the NBA wants to stay playing in the middle of nowhere instead of his hometow (has a Nationals tattoo) where he can print money in endorsements.

KD has the most advertisement/comercials in the sport. How many more can he get?

Also, if KD wanted to play in DC so bad wouldn't he have gone already instead of signing a max deal with OKC?

I definitelyi thought it was impossible at the start of the year but KD gets so much better each year. Why at 25 years of age should I not expect KD to continue to get better. If he does incrementally improve why can't he be better than Lebron?

This is KDs, what, 7th year? So it's not like he came in the league at 22 and this is his 3rd year....You realize that when Bron was 25 he dropped a 30/7/9 season? While shooting 50% from the field! Bron is also on the verge of a 60/40/75 season....which probably has never happen, if I were to guess. Chances are he doesn't get it BUT the fact that it's even being talked about it as a possibilty is just stupid.

I'm not debating that 25 year old KD is better than 25 year old Lebron. Thats a losing argument for me. But, what I have seen from Durant is continual improvement and I have no reason to believe that is going to stop at 25. If KD does in fact continue to get better then I can see a possibility that he is better. Remember, Lebron was the only great player on his Cleveland team so the ball was in his hands at all times. Look at what KD is doing without RW. But, Lebron didn't win until he got paired with Wade and KD won't win without RW. But, just because we haven't seen KD post these statlines for sustained periods doesn't mean he couldn't do it if he were on his own.

Lebron is not going to get that statline. His FG/3ptFG percentage is dipping. But even at the percentages they are at is disgusting.

My top 5 is better than anyone else.

Kyle Korver

Nick Van Exel

Josh Smith

Alan Anderson

Bobby Phills (RIP)

Since RW went down, KD is averaging 5.5 APG, prior to RW going down he was averaging 5.1

OMG LOOK AT THAT JUMP!!!!

Can he adjust to playing without RW? Also, KD will never average the assists that Lebron averaged in Cleveland. He isn't the passer Lebron is. But, Durant is clearly a better scorer an about the same if not a better rebounder.

Bron averaged 30 on 50% shooting at the same age....Bron doesn't need to score as much now in the reg season, but if you look at him in the postseason, he flips the switch.

Both average 28 per game in the playoffs, Bron shoots 1% better.

We don't know what KD could average for a whole season without another lead dog on the team.

Are you doubting that he could get 35 a game while shooting 50%? I wouldn't doubt KD.

Bron also feels more comfortable not scoring as much. Thats the type of player he is.

Considering it's been done only TEN times in NBA history, with FIVE of those being Wilt.....I would say it's a safe bet that no one will be averaging 35 PPG. The last person to do it was Kobe in '05 and before him, MJ in '88.

I think its safe to say that KD has elite level talent to potentially do that. Not saying its likely but I wouldn't put it past him. If he didn't care about his efficiency then he would easily eclipse 35PPG. He is average 31 PPG this year while shooting 50/40/88. That is bat crap insane.

Thunder just own the Spurs right now. Even since they beat them down the first two games of the 2012 WCF the Spurs haven't had a chance against the Thunder.

We will see what happens in the playoffs. That being said SAS were missing three starters after Leonard left.
