I agree with you police is a massive problem as most government is. They have an insanely powerful union that leads to nobody getting punished. Nobody gets fired ever. It creates a backward incentive structure to produce the best product.

Police kill white people and Hispanics too. They are just power hungry and that leads to this ****.

Burning down the cities is the absolute last thing I would do if my goal was to reduce police power

It most likely is not the right answer, but people have been trying a ton of things and nothing works. The people didn't even get the president they voted for.
 
The problem with police culture is reflected in the fact that someone with Chauvin's track record was allowed to stay on the force all these years. Change needs to happen when it comes to how someone like that is handled.

Trump tells the police unions at the white house to use whatever force.

Amazing when Obama tried to balance supporting police and calling out the bad ones, he was anti-police.

There is no right answer with these people because they don't want things to change. They even want to reverse the few changes that have been made.

This dude had like 9 charges against him but never was removed.

The police love very poorly chosen one because he glorifies the toxic aspects of police culture...not all of them...the ones committed to change recoiled from his comments encouraging them to rough up the bad guys

There's a whole culture around it, at this point. It is disgusting. I've watched even good people turn into angry little creeps after becoming cops.

Dont forget our obsession with unions.

I was having a conversation with a friend yesterday about the space launch. He was saying Tesla will destroy all the car makers bc they are more worried about their unions and pensions than they are innovation and progress.

First I'd ever thought of it but man is that true.

Same thing police and teachers.there is no incentive structure to be better

In fairness to chosen one, the right was gaslighting military families and police culture for years before he came.

But he has just put that gaslighting on steroids and the toxic ones love him because they think he's "tough" like them.
