NL Rookie of the Year Watch

Horton pulled after only three innings tonight. Unclear right now if it’s injury related or just resting him for postseason. Gave up a lot of hard contact but continued his batted ball luck with only one run allowed.

First person I've seen mention they are a NL Rookie of the Year voter - Keith Law. I actually think this is good news, he's pretty analytically driven.

Now it's time for us to get Coppy to offer him some money for a Baldwin vote.

I thought ROY voters were essentially beat writers from just cities in that league. 30 people vote with 2 from each city.

He does say in that atheltic article that he thinks the NL ROY is pretty obvious.

Coppy could offer that 2005 F150 he got to Drew Waters.

Good catch, I missed that. Worth noting - he wrote last year that he would've voted for Cowser over Gil for AL ROY. Some similarities between that and the Baldwin-Horton situation.

Also worth noting that Keith Law ranked Baldwin #27 and Horton #74 in his preseason top 100. And there's nothing Keith Law loves more than Keith Law, so he would love to prove he was right.

I've spent way too much time reading old things about the one of 30 NL ROY voters we know, but I would definitely guess that we know of one Baldwin first-place vote now.
