Washington (AFP) - US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the United States is ready to solve the North Korean "problem" without China if necessary.

"North Korea is looking for trouble," Trump wrote on Twitter. "If China decides to help, that would be great. If not, we will solve the problem without them! U.S.A."

Saturday is the 105th anniversary of the birth of Kim il-Sung (Kim Jong-il's Dad and the founding father of the Kim dynasty). North Korea always does something to 'commemorate' the day and there have been whispers about a nuclear test this weekend.

US deployed a carrier group to Sea of Japan a few days ago
China just moved 150K reservists to their border with North Korea

Tensions definitely mounting. There has been some talk of a pre-emptive strike against Kim to knock out his missile sites, but the major concern is that we wouldn't be able to disable them all in time for him to pop one off aimed at Japan or SK.

I remember our last two saber rattling, self proclaimed "war time" Presidents --- neither in the long run worked out so well.
Unless you revel in relieving Grenada of those pesky dentists (or whatever was the purpose)

Shows of force are just that

so glad the man child with the temperament of my 6 year old nephew is in charge while Russia/Syria and North Korea are pressing him

who suck to have someone that is a statesman at the helm to deal with these problems

Because that worked so well in the past didn't it?

Of course, not much could be worse than providing them with the means and the cover to make nukes, so maybe you are right.

A fleet of North Korean cargo ships is heading home to the port of Nampo, the majority of it fully laden, after China ordered its trading companies to return coal from the isolated country, shipping data shows.

To make up for the shortfall from North Korea, China has ramped up imports from the United States in an unexpected boon for U.S. President Donald Trump, who has declared he wants to revive his country's struggling coal sector.

The squeeze.

You could add a new Cold War with Russia to our list of problems if Hillary was President. Wouldn't have to put with these women superiority marches though.

Sometimes it takes a little force to get something done as opposed to the puss footing foriegn policy that defined the Obama presidency.

@W7VOA: US gov’t and other sources say #DPRK has apparently placed a nuclear device in a tunnel and it could be detonated Saturday AM #Korea time.

Well if it works as well as their missile launches typically do then I'm not worried, but IF this actually works like it's supposed to (from their point of view) what happens next?

I feel this will be a reoccurring theme for the next 4 years

"I never knew how difficult this stuff was"

North Korea may have the capacity to deliver missiles equipped with sarin nerve gas, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Thursday, amid concerns that the reclusive state could soon conduct its sixth nuclear test or more missile launches.

"There is a possibility that North Korea already has a capability to deliver missiles with sarin as warheads," Abe told a parliamentary session.

This kind of build-up isn't familiar at all.

Yeah. Same thought.

Apparently Kim told 600k in Pyeongyang to evac. I'm anxious to see what happens by Sunday. While NK doesn't have the capability to hit us they can still hit Japan and SK.
