The last time MLB saw a trade that complicated was back in the 70s when the two Yankees traded wives and children.
I saw today the A's want a CF prospect as the headliner for Gray.
If so, Coppy needs to back out.
I don't think it's that complicated. It's CK + BJ for Wisler. It just has more people. It's less complicated than the Dodgers and Red Sox salary dump. Sending money is complicated and I think requires extra vetting by the league. Kemp is just a salary dump in a player form.
It's still just two teams.
I don't think anyone has ever traded 3/5 of a rotation. We'll send them Wisler and Blair to eat innings and ensure their tank.
I think it's a deal that makes sense........IF the Braves can take on the money and the Tigers are very motivated to move the money. I don't know that either is true.
per Jon Morosi on Twitter
#Braves have remained involved in Sonny Gray sweepstakes, source confirms @Joelsherman1 report; #Athletics interested in Ronald Acuña. @MLB
Hahaha yeah right...
I expect some Braves fans to freak out over this but the wording is important. The A's are interested in Acuna. Just because they're interested doesn't mean we're willing to deal him.
That being said, if Coppy deals Acuna for Gray, I'll be calling for Coppy's head.
Yeah, they won't get Acuna haha we know he's not that stupid
I'm interested in a night with Emma Watson but that's not happening
At least not until I am done... NOW Back the F off..
You're staring two legit difference makers in the face of promotion: Albies and Acuna. Let the other bs go. Nothing to look at here. I'd trade Swanson before Albies and I said last year from WATCHING IN PERSON that Albies is no 1b to Swanson 1a. (And I'm not piling on Swanson, I think he will be solid). We built the farm the right way. You don't trade either of those and Maitan for pitching. People here bytch about Julio, imagine trading the farm for part deaux!I'm sure they are interested in Acuna. I've been concerned because of the market that Coppy will do something stupid like include Acuna or Albies. Just ready for Gray to be moved to get this over with.
Best I would offer is Pache, Anderson, and Sims. If it's much more than that, we need to be out. Gray is not changing the fortune of this franchise in the next two years.
I agree. But it is "out of the box" and most people like boxes.
