Official 2017 Trade Deadilne Thread

I would hope Oakland is interested in Acuna, doesnt mean he's actually available, at least i'd hope not.

Allard, Riley, and Gohara is probably about right on a Gray deal. I would have done Riley, Allard, and a secondary piece.

I’m hearing the #Athletics want Kolby Allard, but #Braves said no…deal could have looked like Allard, Luiz Gohara and Austin Riley for Gray

I'm not moving Allard or Gohara in almost any deal. Interesting though that we possibly said no on Allard and not Gohara. I rank Gohara well ahead of Allard

Allard ($36M) and Gohara ($15M) represent about $51M in surplus value, and I know some around here think Gohara should be more valuable than Top 75-100. Riley is likely worth something between $5M and $10M.

Gray carries about $65M in surplus value right now.

That would be a win for the Braves in terms of value by about $5M-$10M, though I'm still not a fan of assuming Gray's injury risk (which is even greater than the average pitcher) during a losing season.

You're probably right, glad Coppy didnt do that though.

Why?

Gray isn't that good. Injuries. 2.5 yrs. arb so not cost controlled

Gray would be the best pitcher on the Braves.

Gray has been fantastic in his last 5-6 starts. He's really good.

If we could get him for Allard, Riley and secondary pieces thats a steal but i doubt we could.

Not interested in giving up one of our top 5 and then another top 10 and then another top 15.. for 2.5 years of Gray.. when .5 years will be losing anyway.

Yankees and A’s are making progress on a Gray/Alonso trade, per @Feinsand:

This almost has to include Frazier, who is worth about $50M. There's simply no other way the Yankees can put together a package with a suitable centerpiece. No way Florial is valuable enough to be the main part.

Would have to be Florial ($20M) plus Adams ($18M) plus 2-3 other FV 45 guys to total $65M.

We have seen rumors that the A's love Florial though, so maybe...

Allard, Riley, and lesser pieces would be a win.

Gohara and Allard is a no-no for me. I'd do one, cant keep every pitching prospect.

And who is to say, Gray wouldnt get extended?

What would a package of Mateo, Florial, and other pieces be like?

@Feinsand
Not surprised Sonny Gray is making his start in Toronto. Though sources say Yankees are making progress, they didn't expect a deal tonight.

"Feinsand notes that colleague Jon Morosi reported the Athletics’ interest in center field prospect Estevan Florial earlier today and adds infield/outfield prospect Jorge Mateo could also be a part of talks. However, he also notes that one source deemed Gleyber Torres, Clint Frazier, Chance Adams and Justus Sheffield as “close to untouchable” in GM Brian Cashman’s eyes."

I don't see how the Yankees build a $65M package without including Frazier, Adams or Sheffield.

Do the A's really love Florial enough to take a package with him as the headliner?

Talk about a steal for the Yanks if this goes through!
