We couldn't acquire a box of crackerjacks for Johnson if we tried.... Just put him on waivers or something and hope some team is dumb enough to get him off our hands.

I understand that. But if nothing is there then nothing is there. I'd most certainly rather Coppy work on deals that could help us next year and beyond instead of figuring out which prospect we might get for Phillips who would fit in at the end of our top 30.

In all honesty you have to figure Coppy's focused on both, and moving Johnson/Dat Dude/Markakis probably isn't as pressing a priority since he's still got all of August to see if he can find a deal to move any of them - it's not like any of them are likely to be claimed on waivers. FWIW - the money that the Reds paid for Phillips stays with the Braves whether he's dealt or not - a claiming team would have to pick him up at his contract salary level and the Braves would just pay the bonus if he were traded.

Can't say I'm completely sure I want Dat Dude or Markakis dealt anyway - have to wonder if the brass could contain themselves if there were openings on the big team for Acuna and Albies.

My guess is the Rockies. They are on Lucroy. So could see a bigger package.

I doubt it honestly, most people believe it's NYY or he stays til the winter.
 
Profar could be on the move. He's out of lineup and Texas claimed a AAA INF from Seattle and assigned him to Round Rock.

I hope it's to the Braves.
