Hanser Alberto to Dodgers on an MLB deal
I’m sure he has everybody’s offers by now. I wouldn’t expect there to be a bidding war. Weird nothing has happened. We’ve heard nothing on Correa and Story.
I also thought most big names would be signed in an NBA-like flurry of deals.
I should have known better though. If baseball as an industry is good at one thing, it’s taking something with the potential to bring exciting news cycles to the sport, and throwing a wet blanket over it to smother whatever hype may have been brewing.
Combination of a salary cap and max salaries. There isn’t anything for the top players to negotiate. It always comes down to whatever city that player wants to live in.There’s no deadline in the NBA. Why do they have a crazy first day of FA signing that shifts millions of eyeballs to the sport for a week as everyone digests and dissects how the power in the league has changed? I know nothing about basketball, but even I know when NBA FA hits and the sport world spends a week talking about it.
It’s just frustrating that everything that could be exciting (draft, FA signings, opening of ST) has somehow morphed into a drawn out yawn inducing slog in baseball.
Oh well, just a rant.
Lewis brinson on minor league deal to Astros. Would've liked this deal for braves
FYI: On MLB Network Radio this morning, Jim Bowden said the Braves are being very aggressive in years and dollars with Freeman. Heard this from a source close to his camp. Says the 6th year narrative is false and that it’s basically the Braves or Dodgers.
Adrianza is now a Washington National
I don’t understand the fascination the FO has with Arcia when an actually useful player like Adrianza was available for less of a commitment.
