Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

Sonny Gray traded to Minnesota for their top pick in the 2021 draft (Chase Petty).

I expected Atlanta to see Sonny Gray in that first series of the year, but nope.

AA and Oakland have talked and AA knows what players it’ll take from Oakland so if Freeman signs in LA I expect a trade to go down pretty quick.

Isn't Cruz to dodgers sort of a good development? If you then sign FF, where do you get muncy in the lineup every night?

Seems like an incredibly light return given the advanced arms in our system - I wouldn't have lost a wink of sleep if Gray was our #3 for the next two seasons with Anderson bumped to #4.

Then you'd have no need to chase someone like Greinke.

The Freeman situation sort of reminds me how AA handled the Ozuna situation last year. Wait out the situation until the price inevitably falls into his favor. There really can't be many suitors who are contenders and interested in giving the same type of deal we are rumored to. The Dodgers aren't even a perfect fit, and they aren't known to give out a long term deal to a guy already in his 30's. I almost feel like their offer to him is shorter years, but high AAV, like we've seen them do before.

Can't trust Heyman, but he says the Braves are a finalist for Cruz.

Seems like an odd way to go about things but if Alex REALLY doesn't want to hand out another long-term deal just yet, if they're willing to let Ozuna play defense and sign Cruz to DH you could argue that signing Rizzo and kicking the can down the road until Olson becomes a free-agent allows you to hold onto ALL the depth.

Kinda the Dodgers' way of doing things when he was there.
