Official 2023 Playoff Thread

If Houston wins it all this year...7 years, 7 ALCS appearances, 5 WS appearances, 3 titles. Will have won back to back.

The Yankees 96-2003... 8 years, 6 ALCS appearances, 6 WS appearances, 4 titles. Had a three-peat

Still a big if on Houston bringing it home. But pretty nuts that they are entering into the convo of a run that literally parallels the Yankees. Also shows how quickly perception can change, because as recently as entering last season, they had lost 2 WS in a row, and 1-2 record on the big stage, and were the team that cheated and post-cheating hadn't won a clean one...

Amazing how quickly things can swing, though that's also hope for the Braves, if we can just get some good playoff fortune these next few years

We could just cheat like the Yankees and Astros did. I am sure that would help us win in October .

Biggest difference I see is the Astros and Phillies consistently put together quality at bats and don't go chasing everything. Even in ALCS Game 5, you had that John Singleton dude lay off some tough pitches to get on base for Altuve. It's night and day. It also doesn't hurt that Schwarber and Harper are knocking the ball over the fence every other at bat for the second postseason in a row. We didn't get that from Acuña and Olson. These teams also don't have multiple aging relievers having to rely on precise pitch location not to get bombed.

The Singleton AB was really something. I had to laugh. In the post-game analysis, A-Rod says "Until this season, Singleton hadn't had a hit in the major leagues since the Obama administration." I looked it up and A-Rod had done his research. Can't believe Leclerc just didn't flat-out challenge him.

If the WS ends up being Texas and AZ, the baseball Gods will have brought balance back to the sport. The Phillies teams the last 2 years have been insanely lucky. So many playoffs wins for such a mediocre team.

I want to see the dbacks win just for the anarchy.

Wouldn’t mind Rangers winning though. Will Smith would get his third ring in three years lol.
