My guess/preference/hope (that will almost certainly not be what AA does since he never does what we expect) is the offseason decision making process plays out like this:
Plan A - Yamamoto for $200M, Grissom in LF.
Plan B if they can't sign Yama - Stroman (or equivalent) for 2/3 years, trade Grissom for a LF.
Plan C if they can't trade for a LF - Stroman (or equivalent) for 2/3 years, timeshare in LF with a LHH FA like Heyward and Grissom.
I really like the idea of going after Yamamoto because he is so young he has a real shot at filling the top of the rotation for several years. Additionally, he only costs money, a large chunk of which ($30M-$40M) will be due to his former team up front, and the Braves should have plenty of cash to spend at the moment.
Of course his likely move is something like trading for Adames then extending him, just like he got Murphy last year despite C not being a "position of need" for the club.
