Official 2024 Off-Season Thread!

Lost over a mile per hour on his fastball and saw his big strengths (low BB%, inducing poor-quality contact) take a slide backwards as well. Braves would have to be pretty certain that injuries caused all that to claim him, add him to the 40-man, and pay him the projected $6.6m arb salary.

Yeah, I didn’t really know too much about the details of his down turn other than he was injured and once had pretty good numbers

I think your sarcasm detector is broken.

it’s working. believe me, i just know how much enscheff loves reading out different lineup configurations and variations based on hypothetical signings. its his favorite thing on this board.

i also wanted to take the opportunity to state that lopez should be starting over arcia

It goes beyond that … it’s his sole reason for living. He literally cannot wait to get up each day and log in here ….just hoping to read some fantastic proposed lineups based on impossible trade scenarios…..

Someone needs to post the lineup and 26-man roster for when we sign Ohtani and Yamamoto and trade for Soto.

Angels GM says that the team will not go into a rebuild and instead will double down on his stupidity from the deadline. Says they will be aggressive this offseason.

They really are a very poorly run organization, but I do wish Wash the best.

My guess is that they could try to trade Trout, but with the contract and his injury history, it would be tough to get value.

We better not pass any JIM CROW LAWS by expanding voter access in 2024, or else we'll lose this one too

it's strange because there have been no changes to the law that MLB said was RACIST and thus punished the Braves.

But the law is there... is it not RACIST anymore?

And the article on MLB.com about the Braves being awarded the all star game makes no reference of it being taken away from them a few years earlier.

The espn.com article mentions it in the headline and reiterates it in the lede. So it’s not as if no big media is calling attention to the convenient lack of conviction.

But you always have to take news from the organization itself with a grain of salt. Same thing was true during the previous CBA negotiation.

The Atlanta Braves will host the 2025 All-Star game, Rob Manfred says. "I made the decision in 2021 to move the event, and I understand that — believe me — people had then and probably still have different views as to the merits of that decision."
