Sometimes though I wonder if fringe guys like Andrus and Pillar whom are hanging on, are benefitting or hurting because of the environments they're playing in.

Pillar is performing well for us considering what we're asking to do from him.

If Andrus were here, would our analytics dept and coaching staff have him better prepped to go out there on the diamond? We're a better organization than the ChiSox. I don't think people understand how much AA rebuilt the club. Came in with only 2 people in the analytics department. By the time we won the world series we had 12. Apparently it's almost double that now. Yet we aren't looked at as your stereotypical analytics org like HOU or LAD because Snit is the face of the dugout.

If Pillar were playing for a ****show like ChiSox as a rebuild your trade value guy half a season rental, would he be as productive?

We have a better environment and clubhouse for someone like Pillar to thrive. It's possible Andrus would outperform expectations and have one last solid year too.

Soler performed better for us than he had before he came here and really since he has left. Being part of a good clubhouse and well run organization could sometimes have an affect you can't see on a stat sheet.

Proof that AA is WAY smarter than we are?

The 4 most popular names mentioned to replace Dansby:

Trea Turner: Currently has a .676 OPS and .5 bWAR after signing an 11 year 270 million dollar deal

Carlos Correa: .660 OPS and .2bWAR after signing for 6 years and 200 million.

Willy Adames: .700 OPS and .9 bWAR. His 86.1 EV is by far the lowest of his career.

Amed Rosario (My top choice given what I assumed would have been a low acquisition cost): He's been the 5th worst defender in baseball according to DRS and currently sports -.6 bWAR.

And 1 more for good measure. Elvis Andrus was a name thrown around as sort of a last resort type of option. And there were more than a couple posters who couldn't believe we let him sign with the Chi-Sox for a paltry 3 million. He currently has a .516 OPS and -.5 bWAR

Dansby has been very good in Chicago but still agree with not signing him to that deal. Like wup, i'm pretty surprised Trea is having the season he's having. I wouldnt have given him the deal Philly did but thought he'd be better than this. Dont think anyone could have seen Arcia being as good as he's been however.

Miami should fall back soon. They face, arguably, the White Sox best 3 pitchers followed by Seattle's 3 best pitchers. After a series with Washington, they get the following before the All-Star Break:

Toronto, Pittsburgh, Boston, Atlanta, St. Louis, Philadelphia.

The Marlins currently lead the league in Pythagorean luck. They're 6 games over their Pythagorean W-L record. We're dead on our Pythagorean.

The Marlins are also 94 runs behind us in run differential.

They're due to regress hard and this stretch of schedule is more than capable of making it happen.

Speaking of the White Sox. With how ****ty the AL Central is they may not even be out of it at the deadline. Braves somehow don't seem to need rotation help either like it looked like when Fried went down.

That said I would like to get Kelly if the Sox do decide to trade off pieces. He or Chapman would be 2 impactful arms.

Braves have a 98% probability of making the playoffs with how bad the NL is. Any trade deadline move made should only happen if it improved the postseason roster (ie no Odorizzi type trade unless there are injuries and we need to eat innings).

Nothing wrong with an Odorizzi type of trade as long as the cost is minor league filler.

I'm sure the front office thinks Rosario/Pillar is good enough in LF, but I really hope they upgrade. Bellinger would be outstanding, but he will likely have a big market. I sort of doubt the Mariners sell, but if they do Teoscar Hernandez is someone I would take a look at too.

Add Jesse Chavez to this list.

His numbers the last few years on every team outside of Atlanta are LOL.

Yet here he's still useful for us.
