I think there was a large group here that thought the K numbers would translate into him aging poorly.. it was a bit scary when he was going Gallo on us.. Whatever Ozuna showed him made Zuna's contract this year worth it alone. Olson might have been front runner for MVP if he was hitting like his June/July/August splits the whole year.
 
That's the strangest thing about Olson that I don't get. Olson won 2 gold gloves at Oakland and he comes here and now can't field. What happened?

I think Matt struck out like 9 times in a 2 game span against the Red, and most of those came against Hunter Greene so the worry was if Olson could handle velocity.

I think he has a 1.200 OPS since mid June, so yea

The run value difference between Olson’s and FF’s defense is 4 runs (fDEF -11.4 and -7.7). I’ve been unimpressed with his defense since he came to Atlanta, but it doesn’t really move the needle.
 
You know, it's really kind of impressive that Miguel Cabrera is hitting .264 with a respectable number of walks despite being utterly washed up. I'm pretty sure Chipper could hit for more power if you gave him a bat today, but somehow Miggy is still punching singles and drawing walks.

He has tanked his career WAR the last few years.
 
ESPN crew is the worst.

Normally announcing crews don’t bother me that much but they are probably the worst crew on national tv.

Do they give them the marbles to chew on before the broadcast or just during

That’s why I stream the Braves audio broadcast on the mlb app when they are on ESPN and even Fox.
 
On the bright side, I think the Sunday night game 2 weeks from tonight will be Atlanta's final appearance on SNB in 2023.

The rest of Atlanta's Sunday games after that already have a SNB game scheduled otherwise (Dodgers), or SNB will not choose Atlanta (vs. Miami, Washington, Pittsburgh, etc.).
