Official Around Baseball 2023 Thread

I think folks forget how much a strong BP can actually carry a team in the playoffs. 1-2 starters and any combination of an opner and 4-5 elite pen pieces can carry a team through every series.. with built in off days and quick series wins can refuel your elite guys.. you could even let a game go if it gets bad early and let those elite pen arms rest. The Braves won the title in 21 with starts from Tucker Davidson, lost Kyle Wright, and magic man Ian... The starters only averaged 5 innings a game..

The Dodger$ pen has the ability to cover half the innings played since they are getting the first round bye. The Dodger$ are still the most dangerous team.. once the Braves expose the Faillies over the next 7 against them, you guys will come around and agree with me on this.

That’s one of the reasons I hope they splurge on the bp this offseason and go for Hader. SP wins you the season and elite bp arms like you said can carry you through the playoffs bc they pitch more often.

Astros are the biggest threat in the playoffs imo
 
If you had a 30-team playoff of 5-game series, I wonder how many losing teams would make the final 8. I'm guessing at least half of them.
