Official official offseason thread

I read that the Yankees were trying to trade Aaron Hicks, and I thought he might make sense as kind of a buy-low, bad contract guy for left field, and holy **** it turns out he's signed through 2025.

Not a bad deal for Chicago

I disagree. I know the market it what is this year, but I don't think he's much better (if any) than Mitch Haniger who signed for 3/43 or Wil Myers who anyone could have traded for before his contract was bought out.

5/75 seems like a pretty steep overpay for a light hitting cOF they has a mere 4.8 bWAR over the last 3 years.

It would give me heartburn, but if I’m getting very good defense and a fairly reliable bat that I’m not asking to be one of the top sluggers, I would gladly live with it.

Only thing that really strengthens the team is to resign Dansby and either use Grissom in LF or use him as trade bait for a legit LF.
I think this is the right decision! Our farm is bad and if we don’t sign Swanson the window is going to close in the next 2 year or less.

Why not just movie Ozzie to SS?

He couldn't be any worse than Grissom. If it wasn't for that long side winding arm motion, he'd be a great SS. Has the speed and range.
