Strider is a massive no.
Heyward and Freeman on the same team in 2023 and both with a WS title. Just like we all thought in 2011.

Because I was serious with my comment
I'd pull the trigger on that deal and run before the Yankees could rethink their stupidity. Donaldson could actually provide valuable playing time here. He's not a bad hitter even at this stage of his career and he can field his position. 2 things you can't say about Ozuna.
Hell if you wanted to you could trot out this lineup

If nothing else I'd expect the infield defense to be really good and the OF would be devastating.

Donaldson cannot hit, only thing with him is one less year on his deal. He's a solid defender but thats probably it.
And it could help on long-term luxury tax issues, because we're almost guaranteed to go over this year. Each year over adds to the penalties. Since Donaldson is down to 1 year on his contract, he'll be off the books after 1 year. Ozuna's money could push us over for 2 years. We could get back under next year.
Another idea would be to buy 1-2 of these high dollar free agents and give really long terms like the Phillies do. Assume that the last few years are sunk and the money is earned up front. Yeah, not great to build like the Phillies or to sacrifice the future.
Donaldson can outhit Ozuna although i will admit that's an extremely low bar.

At this point I find it more likely AA trades for Kim from SD than signs Swanson or Correa. These deals for Turner/Xander makes me think Correa will get ~$300M and Swanson may approach $200M...which is ludicrous.
Guys like Iglesias and Andrus don't seem like clear upgrades over Arcia, so I don't see the need to bid on them unless their markets aren't driven up by the high end SS market.
