Wow, can't believe the Braves are willingly breaking apart a championship core with such speed.
Who's next? Albies or Acuna?
This guy who predicted Schwarber, Story, Verlander before it happened is saying Judge will go to SF. Has some details on the contract too.
CA income tax: 13.3%
PA income tax: 3%
Turner gave the Phils a ~2% hometown discount. I suppose we can start applying that to all contract projections for guys who owned a Glavine jersey as a kid.
Hopefully VirginiaBrave
Then where does that yankee money go, Correa?
Bless your heart Huddy, and I mean it in the worse possible way. Just put your fan badge away. Nobody's got time for that. The Braves just drew 3M so I am not sure anybody should out of their price range if they really want them.
I used to deal a lot with income tax policy and this may have changed, so my comment can be ignored if it no longer applies. As contracted employees, I believe baseball players, like entertainers, have to pay income taxes in all states in which they have made money. In other words (and it used to be this way), the accountants for every Braves' player has to calculate the revenue earned in each state. As example, the Braves play half-a-dozen to a dozen games in California each year. I don't know how the days would be calculated vis-a-vis the contract, but basically the player would pay taxes to California for the amount of money he earned in California.
The other angle on this--and I have personal experience with due to the first Ms. 50# selling her business and moving to Florida after we divorced--is that if you spend less than half a year in a state, you can claim residence in another state regardless of how many days you are actually there. I think that's why so many players establish their residence in Florida, where there is no income tax.
I guess what I am getting at--and this may have all changed--is that the whole "high income tax state" issue isn't as large as some make it out to be when it comes to players' contracts.
If we can move Ozuna contract. I like Jd Martinez or Justin Turner to a one year deal.
AA is not gonna overpay period and he’s said so. And last time I checked this is a fan page retard.
Well just get ready for a rebuild if you support breaking this team up this quickly. You couldn't re-sign Dans so somebody like Correa seems like a pipe dream.
Heyman says Judge appears headed to the Giants.
