Official official offseason thread

Fernando Tatis is owed an average of $24M over the next 12 years, which brings him to his age 35 season ( same as Riley and Olson)

The contract is backloaded with salaries that get up to 36M but tops out at $24M luxury tax salary.

It’s actually not a bad contract if he is who he was before getting suspended.

We can take Tatis and they can take Ozuna off our hands

I'm not sure why it would be a disappointment for someone else to overpay Dansby, rather than us...

It would be disappointing going into the year with a combination of Arcia/Grissom no matter what. I certainly don't want Dansby for similar deals to the other SS's have already been signed thus far. But no doubt Dansby makes the lineup/team a ton better, even if he wasn't my first choice. And no, we aren't signing him for an absurd overpay but if he really does want to be here maybe there's still a chance he could sign a more reasonable deal. I don't think that's realistic but it'd sure be cool if it was.

My fear is we sign up to a huge contract and he turns back into the mediocre offensive player he’s been in the past. I’d love to have his defense back no question but he’s a frustrating offensive player to watch. I’d rather spend the money elsewhere

I think Braves should sign Dansby. The Braves farm is weak and they don’t have a lot to trade now or during the trade deadline.

I'm okay with Arcia/Grissom/Andrus if we can sign Conforto. There's just not a lot left to spend money on that fills our needs.
