When will Acuña be back with the team?

Acuña update:
Eddie Rosario had an RBI double to the right-center gap Monday in his first game with the Braves since the left fielder’s Puerto Rico team was eliminated from the WBC on Friday. Snitker said he hadn’t heard from right fielder Ronald Acuña Jr. as of Monday afternoon, but he planned to give him a few days to rest before playing him Thursday. Acuña’s Venezuela WBC team was eliminated Saturday in a semifinal loss to Team USA at Miami.

“He’s probably going to need to get in there Thursday, I would think,” said Snitker, whose Braves are off Tuesday and play the Tigers in Lakeland, two hours away, on Wednesday. “I’m not gonna drag him to (Lakeland). I mean, he’s been playing center field, running all over the place. So probably a few days off isn’t going to hurt him. I didn’t know if he’d show up today, he didn’t call or anything. I’m sure we’ll have somebody reach out to him just to see what his plans are. He’s just in Miami, but I don’t know, he might have had stuff to do family-wise or whatever before he comes over. I’ll put him in when I see him.”

Being towards the end of spring training, this is where we see a lot of veterans getting released from not making the big league team with the team they were in camp with. One name that caught my attention was Jeurys Familia. Coming off a career worst year he had a good showing in spring. With Iglesias starting the year on the IL, he wouldn't be a bad guy to sign for the minimum who could perhaps provide some useful innings while Iglesias is out...

Not saying he would close, but would allow everyone to bump up a spot.

Ken Rosenthal threw out today that the Yankees could trade Gleyber Torres before the season to make room for Volpe. Torres played a good amount of SS in 2021. Two years of control left, pretty good offensive numbers. Someone smarter than me with defensive metrics can look those up because my knowledge there is pretty limited.

I don’t really know what we would trade for him considering the farm system. Just throwing it out there.

Defensively similar to Arcia but a better hitter. But he also makes almost $10 million this year.

that is the biggest draw back.. he is not enough of an upgrade to warrant the money.. not when we are not the Mets.

I’d definitely be all for getting Gleyber. He’s a 25/10/.260 hitter. Basically Dansby offensively with a little less speed. For their careers, Gleyber has better obp, slg and ops. I know nothing about his glove so I won’t comment there. But for an additional 10 million, give me a Dansby like player without the long term commitment. Not sure if we have the capital to get him.

Torres doesn’t have a spot. Yankees fans consider him not a ss. He’s a 3b or 2b masking as a ss from the comments I’ve read.

But yeah Volpe has real momentum as the starter there.
