Given our situation...it’s the best option. As long as he doesn’t stay injured three of the four years...it’s a win.

The next contract that will make me nervous is how many years Freddie gets and at what price. If JD gets that at 34....yikes.

I dunno I think JD’s the better player and the better risk. You can always move Donaldson to first and go for another 3B in 2 years. With Freeman I’d look at Nelson Cruz and JD Martinez as comps

There were only 52 such hitters last year across all 32 teams. If the Braves get JD they will have 3 of them already, and you think they need to add 4th?

And maybe 120 is high. 110.
Catcher and ss are likely to be close to league avg, probably a bit below. Rf is going to be just north of league avg.

I think we need another bat.

I see d'Arnaud and Flowers well above league average compared with just catchers.

...and I expect to see a continued modest upward trend from Swanson. I expect both C and SS to be league average or slightly better. Just my observation, no science...

Seems like they did that with him early in the year last year. Scattered off days over the first couple of months. But then suddenly he was in the lineup daily.
 
Yeah, Lil D and Flowers should combine to be above average for a catcher both offensively and defensively.
