I don’t see any way that Bryant wins that so 2 years is what I’d operate under for any deal involving Bryant.

Gotta give up something, would be stunned if Riley/Wilson, and non Pache/Waters/Anderson/Wright would get it done.

Riley, Wilson and a lesser prospect for Bryant. That’s my offer. Pache/Waters/Anderson/Wright aren’t going anywhere. And if they balk then fine. I’d rather spend money and have a dead contract for one year (year 4 of Donaldson) than lose a stud prospect.

I'd maybe do Wright/Riley if I were pushed into it, but beyond that I think I'm passing. I would also do Riley/Wilson plus a 40 FV player or two.

I’d give up Wright, Riley, and Wilson and I’m a huge Wright fan. Bryant checks all the boxes we need in a player and can play COF too. I’d try to get Happ back also.

The fact we are all fine with Riley plus Wilson probably means it’s too light. Adding Wright to that is a pretty big package and may be closer to what it takes.

Happ has some pop and can play infield and outfield. I hope if AA is talking to the Cubs that he can get Happ also.

I wouldn’t have a problem giving more if it were for more than 2 years, or if I knew we could extend him. But for only two years I’m not handing them several top prospects.

Yeah if it gets that expensive, I'd call an audible to lesser 3rd base options and also trying to get a competent cOF guy. Wright/Riley would be acceptable, mayyyyybe Wright/Riley plus a couple supplementary lottery tickets. But not all three of those guys.

Outside of Braves fans I doubt Wilson would be a deal breaker for a trade involving somebody like Bryant. Wilson won’t be in our rotation for any period of time while we are contending. And if he is, something went bad wrong.

Correct. He shouldn’t see extended period of time as a starter. Only way he should be starting is if injuries have piled up. Others have pointed this out every time he pitches, and I tend to agree: he doesn’t seem to have more than two pitches and seems to be a better fit in the pen.

I am starting to convince myself that Fried was a starting point and Newk could be a settling point. Obviously more to add but Newk could be attractive to the cubs.
