Official Offseason Thread

I want absolutely no part of Ryu. Dude has been injured a ton the past several years, and will be 33 when the season starts. Plus he's looking for a 4 year deal

Would Senzel be a realistic option? The Reds have spent a little money to compete so trading Senzel would be a step back imo. Don’t get me wrong though I’d love to have him.

And there are quite a few doubts that he will get said 4 year deal. Sounding like a 2 year deal with a a 3rd option is more likely. Dude would look great at the back end of our rotation which is where he'd be. I'd be all about Ryu if we get 3rd base taken care of first. I just don't see how we can afford him after a 3rd base upgrade.

The good thing about Bryant would be is he could shift to the OF if we found a 3b upgrade at the deadline.

I have to imagine that, if we acquire Bryant, it's to be the full-time third baseman. What he does give you is the kind of roster flexibility we know the Dodgers value - he can cover left field for a week or two in case someone gets hurt and Riley is swinging a hot bat, for example. But he'll be Kris Bryant, Third Baseman.

Saw the Dodgers are super aggressive in getting Clevinger and Lindor. That would pretty much wipe out there farm and some of the MLB team.

Lol Toronto... The contracts to him and Keuchel combined with the teams they went to make me feel like I'm in some sort of bizarro land. Was Ryu really the difference between the Blue Jays making the playoffs or missing it? Because they still look like the clear number 4 team in the AL East to me.

Such weird signings lately, but good for Ryu I guess.

This thread has a little bit of “Hot Nudism” to it. For those of you from the Scout days you’ll know what I’m talking about. I know we’ve discussed other free agent signings, but we’re on page 153 and I’d say at least 75% of the conversation has been centered around JD. I just wish we would have come up with a creative anagram like we did for Tim Hudson.

This aged well
