Like ATL was saying here. I am so glad the Braves didn’t over think this. Just pick the best guy and go. Strider has been the better guy all year. I love that our game 4 guy is big game Morton. We have a great staff top to bottom. Hopefully we can get past that game 1 clunker.

Not shocking, but Bowman says the expectation is that Spencer will go 2-3 innings. I’d guess they pitch him 2-3 and let him go again for an inning or two if it gets to game 5.

Nah… Bowman is just repeating what the FO is hoping he will as always. Classic Bowman. If he’s on, I fully expect Strider to pitch 5+

unless it came from AA and the doctors directly that he only needs to throw X# of pitches, then I also see him going a bit deeper. I doubt they want to get into a huge bullpen game with potentially 2 more games to play in the next 2 days.

From a cursory glance I think Nola has faced us 4 times this year? 2 times he has dominated us and 2 times we’ve hit him really hard. Strider has made the Phillies his bitch all year

what would be your plan then. Morton was going to pitch this weekend.. so you would rather Morton go today against Nola and potentially have a Strider BP game tomorrow?

Have to love playoff baseball. Strider could come out today and not be able to hit the side of a barn. OR he could come out and absolutely deep dick the Phillies forcing an elimination game tomorrow.

Yes. At that point, you would know exactly what you are facing and what you need to do. Bullpen game tomorrow with the season on the line? You can throw everyone at them without worrying about the next game. Today? You KNOW there will be a game tomorrow regardless and have to work the bullpen accordingly. It just really opens the door for Snit making some ridiculous choices with the bullpen today.

He is going to make ridiculious choices regardless. I get what you are saying but you try and win today at all cost and let Morton throw for the clinch with Max and Wright in relief on Sunday. I think today is a must win for both teams and we need our very best going today.. not when our backs are already against the wall.

Agreed. It is the postseason, you don't play for tomorrow, you play to win the game today. So you have to start your best.
