I agree..but I think he was sitting 95-96 before on the 4 seamer.. if he is getting more velo, then I would also like to see if he is also getting more spin. He is 22, so i wouldn't say he is past the time to learn command either. He is probably still a reliever in the long run which is very tradable for a guy like King or Cease.. but he is at least interesting again.. for me anyway.
I still like Waldrep and really liked the pick but he's gonna have to show a lot more than airing it out and trying to impress for an inning ST. Like Cheff said we'll know more tomorrow. I was surprised he didn't come out for a 2nd inning unless they are trying to showcase him.
Well, Waldrep just got optioned, so…
Like I tried to tell y’all…. We aren’t trading Waldrep……

Savant shows Waldrep threw 3 separate pitches. Spin rates were improved over his cup of tea in the majors last year, but nothing earth shattering. No reason to think he's anything more than a back of the rotation pitcher unless his command improves dramatically.
Wonder if the Munoz kid is worth following. seems like breaking/off speed pitch could really help him.
