Just to add to this (since everyone's busy arguing how bad we're going to be with Kemp...

Since June 15th, the Cubs have won 2 more games than the Braves while the Cards and Giants have the same number of wins and the Mutts have one less. Sucks that they play the game on the field instead of on computers, don't it???

LOL Kemp has been a non-factor since we acquired him... and it sucks they have to play the full season, and not random arbitrary starting points, don't it???

Kemp's actual performance has been just okay.... yet look what his presence has done for the performance of the TEAM.

This why the game is not played on spreadsheets, as clvclv points out.

I know, I know, SSS, but it is not just the numbers that are different. They are a better team even without big numbers.

It also helps that Inciarte, Aybar, Markakis and Freeman have all been playing much better for some time now, which is not really something that started with Kemp.

Kemp doesn't hurt though.

has homered, scored 6 runs, acquired 5 rbis in 8 games. Has a four game hitting streak going where he is 6/17.

All who think Kemp is the reason the Braves are winning type "Kemp".

All who think Inciarte, Markakis, Aybar and Garcia all getting hot at the same time is the reason type "Team".

It will be a quick test to see who the dumb posters are that I can safely add to my ignore list. It makes the board much more readable haha!

I love Cuban pork sandwiches and Afro-Cuban jazz, but I agree that for the most part the signings of Cuban players haven't panned out that well most of the time. There have been some notable exceptions, but I haven't been that impressed with the bulk of the Cuban players.

They have all contributed. Yes, Kemp is part of it, as are the others you have mentioned.

I'm seeing a lot of "Braves are x-x since Kemp" posts.

That of course implies that Kemp has been a major contributor to that record.

And in reality, he's been a below average player since joining the team. Hopefully he starts playing better, though

Great. Now that I understand that, for you it is more about creating conflict for enjoyment than talking Baseball, I will feel less inclined to respond to your inane comments in the future.

Let's see just how long you can.
 
To make this deal work kemp has to make less outs and significantly improve his defense and attitude.

I care not about this streak. I want us to lose by a run every game and for our long term guys to play well.

Kemp is a next yr evaluation for me
 
The Braves were playing better before Kemp arrived (compared to their overall record).

With the Braves Kemp has hit 206/282/353 - 62 WRC+. Defensively he's -2 DRS and -0.8 UZR. None of these are good numbers.
