Parkland School Shooting

I notice you and your friends haven't responded much to the data that is being posted in both gun threads

Haven't seen all of them yet. Haven't looked much in the other thread but the U.S. has far more guns and a much higher gun homicide rate than comparable developed countries. That's a fact.

Oh I stated that? Can you point me where?

But I don't think I'll ever be convinced that the object of the murder is to blame more than the murderer. Like I said - the double standards from the left on this are endless. It seems to be isolated to guns... not alcohol or trucks for example when similar tragedies occur

"I don't think I'll ever be convinced"

Like, Hawk, you're making fun of these kids and then shedding crocodile tears about cheapening their message... in response to people who are merely echoing their message.

I'm making fun of the way you are blunting and manipulating the experiences of these children so you can take potshots at the gun lobby.

I mean, ****, if you want to talk about disingenuous, let's consider people who want to make it harder and more expensive to access mental health care, then blame mental health care issues for mass shootings. Or people who are fine with teachers being responsible for personally purchasing classroom supplies, but now think that they should be responsible for owning and training in the use of guns to protect their students. Or, big picture, people who think that our society should be awash in guns then bitch about people who believe otherwise when someone kills a bunch of kids with a legally obtained gun.

I'm making fun of the way you are blunting and manipulating the experiences of these children so you can take potshots at the gun lobby.

So there's not a direct line between the gun lobby and legislative changes that allowed this ****er to buy the gun that killed all those kids?

Yes, let's point fingers and claim moral and ideological superiority - because that's not completely counterproductive.

'People'

I mean, seriously, homey. All you've said on the topic has to do with entertainment and video games. Why don't you solve this problem for us real quick in a way that doesn't encompass firearm regulation.

What's constructive? Not blaming the ****ing NRA or conservatives for what this kid did, maybe.

So exactly what those people, and myself, are advocating for, but just without the blame game. I'm on board with what you're saying, but I'm kind of confused that you feel like it's out of bounds to blame the people who are lobbying for the exact opposite.
