It's OVER 5,000!
Sure. But I don't think it's hard to see that the duo of Wood/Peraza out peforms Olivera/draft pick in terms of WAR through the team controlled years.
Well, it is hard to see, as it hasn't happened yet.

Nobody has been able to justify to me why we traded for an injured, 30 year old player who has all of 13 minor league baseball games under his belt, and won't truly be needed until his 32 year old season, is a good deal.
You have to believe in Olivera to be a middle of the order bat to think otherwise. And if that was the case then why did LA give up such a commodity
Because you need to give something to get something?
Sure. But middle of the order bats are the best thing in baseball. Pitching is everywhere right now. IMO the Braves overpaid on the hopes that Olivera is a legit bat. Not something a rebuilding team should do imo.
But if they calculated right then they get surplus value. Every team has to take risks.
So we traded two of our best assets to hope that a 32 year old who can't get on the field will be a stud?
Do you think that was a risk worth taking?
Trade wouldn't have bothered me nearly as much if it were Moncada... or if Olivera wasn't 30

You may be in luck. There are all kinds of rumors out there that he’s not 30.

ugh! i wish they had consulted you on what your preference was.
C9nsidering how I feel how about Woods future I don't have strong feelings either way. Maybe there were better deals out there but I don't know how the league views woods future.
It wasn't a great trade but I don't think it was a bad one as well. I like the pick coming back in a very deep draft as well as the upside of bird based on scouting reports. Just wish we could have included someone else other than Peraza.
Wood and Peraza ain't getting Moncada, by the way.
