I disagree. That is not a huge amount of money in the context of what the MLB is going to be.

I would love to have a player of Longoria's caliber manning third base for the Braves, and he seems like a cornerstone-type of player. I just don't have confidence that Liberty Media is going to keep all this new money within the baseball side of their organization. Hopefully I am wrong.

Agreed. Of course you have to factor in what the Braves would give up in a potential deal but Longoria is owed just over 15 million per year on average for the next 8 seasons. That includes the option buyout as well. If the Braves were to inhereit that contract in this market then Longoria would only have to be on average a 2 WAR player every year for this contract to be worh it. And even in his down year of 2014 he was a 3 WAR player Again you would also have to look at what the Braves gave up but the contract is very good even if you conisder it being in Longoria's 30's.
