Political Correctness

I'm trying to bring up a serious point about the potential lasting effects on the "everything is terrinle" agenda we teach our kids.

Happy to hear your side of the argument if you have one

actually my post is a serious one...does my son being anti gun mean he has been brainwashed by his school or the media

Teen suicide rates have been trending sharply up in last few years.

true...it is a stressed out generation...my wife showed me an insightful essay by a college counselor about this...will share link if I can remember the source...but the counselors main point was that parents need to butt out and stop micro managing their kids lives...kids are coming into college in an infantalized and unprepared state due to this

God willing we both are great parents and raise.mentally healthy kids

I think my point is there are some real problems but a young person coming to views on guns, climate change or gender identity different from yours should not be taken as a sign that this young person has somehow been harmed or damaged.

You’ve posted many times about the moral crime of racking up trillions in debts and unfunded liabilities for our children and grandchildren, who don’t get a vote. It seems odd to me that you’d be so dismissive of those generations having anxiety about the potentially huge and life-altering structural upheavals that global climate change could produce.

I don't blame them for having anxiety. I blame our constant fear mongering that causes it

My point wasnt about guns it was about having children doing shooting drills for something that is statistically less likely to happen then getting struck by lightening, and would be pretty useless against an active shooter if that lightening strikes

It is effective in traumatizing children though

We did a tornado drill once a semester in elementary school. If there were a serious tornado, most of us would not have survived with how old that building was.

Good thing our firefighters needed to dig up teenage tweets from the guy raising millions for cancer research... or else, hell, he might have ended up raising millions more!

Now the author got fired because HE had old tweets dug up that were bad.

Are we ready to put an end to this or is it a forever race to the bottom with no person standing?
