Possible Gonzalez Extension? (Board MELTDOWN!)

No reason to bring in a good manager for this pile of **** team constructed. Let Fredi fail, fire him, and bring in someone competent when we're good again

There is only 1 manager worse than Fredi , the one that is hired after him. There are probably 25 teams that think they have the worst manager in the history of the game.

Braves have had 2 epic collapses under Fredi, at some point you have to say, well maybe it's the manager. Maybe they went "why the **** does he keep batting losers in the 2 hole? I still don't get why he didn't just do Jason, Justin, Freddie, Gattis. Tell them to all pretend they're 4 hitters and let them go off. Don't stick a turd like BJ, Gosselin, etc. between Jason and Freddie.

Those lineups were epically bad last year for sure.

He's basically done it every year. He's a terrible in-game manager, the evidence speaks for itself, and from the way the clubhouse turned out I would say he isn't all that great behind the scenes, either.

Right. I mean, Bobby wasn't necessarily a tactical genius (even if we overstated his in-game flaws), but he was an undisputed master of clubhouse management. I think there's a lot of wisdom to the idea that the things we most easily see a manager do are the least important aspects of a manager's job. But twice in four years Fredi had a team in good (or pretty much unassailable, in 2011) September position and saw it utterly collapse. That's on the players, sure, but it certainly doesn't speak well of Fredi's ability to keep everyone on an even keel in a stressful time.

The September collapses are common with Fredi, and it's a cumulative effect of his "small" bad decisions throughout the year compounded by his inability to control the clubhouse.

Bobby was awesome for sure but its probably easier to police the clubhouse when you lietenants like Pendleton/Glavine/Smoltz/Chipper/etc...

Plus Huddy basically called Fredi out for being one to panic when things get tough, though he was more praising Bochy at the time for being the opposite. But it is still telling and what happens after Huddy leaves, Fredi does it again and yet again another terrible Sept. Which makes folks forget that we were basically tied for a Wild Card spot at the start or near the start of Sept.

I've been on the fire Fredi bandwagon since the NLDS game 4 blunder but I know that won't stop the endless bitching. He isn't really any different than Bobby, he just doesn't get the automatic respect from the players Bobby got.

Just so folks know. Any post containing a gif or something like that from "The Office" gets an automatic liked post. If you are in to that.

Fredi is the right man at the right time. Plus he reminds me of the girl that might not be the prettiest at the dance but is the one who is the most fun to dance with. I'm trying to remember her name. It might have been Jeannie Montgomery. I wonder how she is doing these days. She had scoliosis and wore a neck brace. But I still liked her.

I can see both sides of that argument. It might work to bring in a manager who would grow with the team (if the team indeed grows). I don't think Fredi is all that bad (and he's not all that good either), but I don't know if he works in this situation. Of course, I always thought he managed fairly well in Florida when he was more active in making in-game moves. That's overrated, but Fredi seemed more inventive (not always a good thing) when he managed there.

Good news.

Fredi will learn from his mistakes and become a better manager.

He's going to have his finest managerial season yet this year after we secure a wild card birth and dominate the Nats again.
