Snit is very lucky that his highest leverage reliever in 2021 was the 7th inning guy.
Imagine if Matzek was promoted to closer and he put Will Smith in the game in that NLCS with runners on against Pujols Betts lol

JT Realmuto and Kyle Schwarber are free agents. Bryce Harper I think is 33. Have to wonder about Zack Wheeler going forward. Aaron Nola wasn’t that good this season.

People really love to felate that team when they haven’t won anything and have choked epically in the playoffs two of the last three years. Blowing that 2-0 and 3-2 lead against the 84 win D’Backs in the NLCS is worse than anything the Braves have ever done in this run.
I think the offense almost literally not showing up the in 2022 and 2023 is just as bad as anything I’ve seen.

The Phillies choking to the Dbacks is on the same level as the Braves in the 96 WS.
I keep seeing this revisionist history. In 2022 it wasn’t the offense. They averaged 3.25 runs per game in that series, which is about what you’d expect in the playoffs. The pitching allowed 6 runs a game. They had no shot.
Now 2023? Yes, the offense absolutely shit the bed.
Worse, really. Braves choked in ‘96, but they choked vs another juggernaut. The ‘23 Diamondbacks might be the worst team to ever make the World Series, including the 2006 Cardinals.

I want Schwarber on the Braves. Idk I just think he has carried that Phillies offense the last few years - but I dont think hes a good fit for the same reasons Ozuna isnt. Id like to keep DH spot open for Drake/Murphy with a lot of Acuna at DH - but if we happened to sign Schwarber i wouldnt be disappointed at all.
