Race

Tell the truth:

Did you know that Black WII service members were denied access to the G.I. bill & VA loans, the two programs that were the MOST impactful in building middle class wealth?

I haven't read Not My Idea. But I have a proposal to the posters on this thread. Let's all read it and have a thread to discuss the book. Anyone in? Let's do it in the spirit of being honest and keeping an open mind.

guess not

The people who think mathematics is a white thing have a problem. This dude quit the NFL at age 26 to pursue a career as a mathematician.

Does anyone know exactly what was tweeted about the British soccer team players?

I don't see how a bunch of racists assholes on Twitter equals "racist abuse". We all have known for a while that there are trolls on social media willing to do whatever they think it takes to be seen. The team should just support their players and those players should do their best ignore trolls. And black players and blacks in general should by now be prepared for them.

I don't know the details about the abuse the English players experienced. But here is what an American player posted a few weeks ago. It might explain why they feel it is not something that is to be accepted as part of the territory.

I think it was mostly your run of the mill anonymous Twitter nonsense.

I believe a mural of one the penalty missers, Marcus Rashford, was defaced in Manchester.

From just a mental health perspective I think it is better for those players to talk about what they have experienced than to just keep it to themselves. That's just mes deux sous as a wannabe shrink.

Aren't you the guy that endless cried about mean tweets, 16 year old kid standing, and people across the country not wearing a mask because you were so scared?

HEV indeed

Joy Reid said it best: "Why can't the Republicans go back to caring about lower taxes?"

The establishment is terrified that real change is coming.

We have a huge problem in this country of glorifying victimhood. Your worth is determined by how much of a victim you are. This gives incentive to everyone playing the victim. It's a huge part of what we see in politics right now and a huge problem.

It's pretty ridiculous. You're not worth more because you have it tough and you're not worth less because you had it easy.

How are you surprised by this? It’s what has headlined the media and society for the last 15 years.

The generation coming into the workplace feels exactly the same way.
