Radio duo fired for transgender banter

I don't have a point of view. I am not a listener of that station in any way shape or form. The caller was incorrect (perceived as a transgender person) and when told they were wrong pulls the "it's disrespectful" card on the phone.

You can't desire to "have a conversation on a topic " and then just deem everything said "offensive".

For about 6 or 7 minutes before I gave up.

And you listening to them has 0 to do with your POV. Everyone has a POV and it reflects if they find something offensive or not. They continuously called transgendered individuals nutjobs. Equated trans surgery to breast augmentation and wrinkle removing. Paraphrasing but I believe the phrase that was said was something along the lines of if a woman can say that having small tits makes her crazy then it's the same as transgender modification. And went on and on about someone's identification and softball.

None of that I'm sure sounds bad to you, because you are not trans. Hell you're not anything other than a normal straight white dude. Nothing offends us straight white folk as far as what's said about us as people. We won the race/sexual orientation/gender identity lottery.

And it's quite easy to discuss without being offensive, you discuss the extent of coverage you think that should be given to all workers and then find a spot to put it in with transgender folk

Zito, if black radio hosts say offensive things about whites on a radio show would you say they should be fired too?
 
Radio hosts shouldn't had been fired. If People don't like certain Tv shows, radio stations, movies etc. don't watch them.

Yes. If that's what the market dictates. These guys were fired because of complaints from listeners, advertisers, etc. by the sounds of what I was reading they were on thin ice. Them apologizing instead of trying to be fox news.
 
I'll have to relisten but most of these folks are forced to sign the lawyer written apology or they lose severance.

Getting fired for "nut job" is insane.

Wait. Were they fired due to complaints because liberals didn't agree with the politics or were they fired because no one listened to them? Two totally different things. Can't be both

One infringes against ones rights to Thier beliefs and the other is dictated by the free market.
 
People complained heavily and the rumor I heard (of course it's a rumor) was advertisers threatened to pull. Opie and Anthony were pulled and they didn't do anything racial.

So you think that it was OK for Patton to question the manhood of men who were suffering PTSD in North Africa in WWII? Cause that's basically the same thing.

They can be fired for anything that the radio station feels is detrimental to them. No one is saying they can't hold their beliefs. However, they are employees. Go ahead and blame liberals, but good things don't come from talking like buffoons and the station has every right to toss them for it.

You haven't picked up on krgrecw's racism yet? He hides behind his "truths" but he's blatant racist and up until recent he's basically he hid behind you because of your criticism of black folk. He suffers from faux persecution. He feels because he's not able to say whatever he wants whenever he wants without consequences that he is persecuted. It's a common affliction of the white protestant male.

Yes I am critical on my own kind when it is warranted (violence, deadbeat dads or not willing to better themselves by CHOICE) but he goes too far in making it a black and white issue.

I'm not racist. I compare blacks and whites because it's like coke and Pepsi. Two big brands throughout America. There's small regional sodas (owned by different makers throughout the nation) like RC cola and Cheerwine etc. there's not that many Latinos east of the Mississippi outside of Florida. I live in columbia sc and here Latinos are under 1% so I imagine it's not that much bigger in the North East. I wouldn't feel like comparing coke vs Cheerwine or Pepsi vs RC cola. Sharpton and JJ jr are also always in the news ready to play the race card and we don't really see that from the Latinos. I admit the LGBT crowd are fighting anyone and everyone who is against gay marriage but who are their leaders?

Sorry if I offended anyone. I admit I'm a little racist, but truthfully we all are.
