REAL FOOTBALL Thread

It fully depends on how the draft shakes out before Atlanta’s first round pick. Do you take a wait and see approach with Ridder assuming the top QBs are off the board?
There are at least 5 teams inside the current top 10 that need a QB. Sticking with Ridder and building out the team around him makes sense if you are confident in him.
I’d take the approach of building the team out and helping Ridder out. If he’s bad next season then you have hopefully built up other positions and can take a Kaleb Williams or Drake Maye on 2024.

Stroud is the best QB. UGA game sealed it. Much like the TLaw game against Bama when he was a freshman. He just plays different.

Interested in seeing Max Duggan a little more. A get a lot of Tony Romo vibes watching him play the last 2 games. He won't get drafted highly because his overall ability is not amazing, but I think he's someone to keep an eye on. At worst, I think he could be a Gardner Minshew type of back-up.

So looking at early playoff matchups.

1. SF vs. GB/Seattle - SF should win, But this should be the best game of the NFC
2. Minn vs. Giants - 2 horseshoe teams, anyone is drooling at getting the winner of this game.
3. TB vs. Dallas - 2 teams who could get hot, but most likely won't be compteitive.

1. Bills vs. Dolphins - Should be a rout for the bills
2. Bengals vs Ravens - Should be a win for the Bengals.
3. Jags vs. Chargers - Wildcard game. Chargers should win, but Chargers also lose games they should win all the time.

If I was betting on winners I"d go SF, Minn, Dallas, BIlls, Bengals, Chargers, but some of those games are going to be tight.

Which would set up round 2 of Eagles vs. Cowboys SF vs Minn, Chiefs vs. Chargers, Bengals vs. Bills.

My predicted winners Eagles, Niners, Chiefs, BIlls

Then I would go Eagles Bills

Bills to win it all.

But I do think instead I'll rank teams by how likely I think they are to win it all.

1. Bills
2. Chiefs
3. Eagles
4. Niners
5. Bengals
6. Dallas
7. Chargers
8. Jags
9. Bucs
10. Ravens
11. Dolphins
12. NFC Wildcard 7
13. Minn
14. Giants.

I could be convinced to move WIldcard 7 up if it's Green Bay, even with their path to the Superbowl being blocked by Niners and Eagles.

Niners are going to roll through nfc and ultimately pull away from anyone in the SB mid way through third quarter.

They are head and shoulders better than any team top to bottom.

I don’t think so. Think the secondary is the weakest aspect of the team. Still a quality unit, but missing two starters is tough to overcome especially when you are facing a very good passing team from the AFC.

Jags will beat Chargers. Jags have been on a roll lately and LA gotta travel across country. West Coast traditionally struggle to win games on the East coast.

Alright so let's have some fun with team DVOA rankings and this weekends games. As an NFC dude I lead off there and we'll start high to low seed

SF (2) vs. SEA (10)

MIN (27) vs. NYG (21)

TB (17) vs. DAL (6)

BUF (1) vs. MIA (8)

BAL (7) vs. CIN (5)

JAX (13) vs. LAC (18)

Worth noting teams like Seattle and Tampa have been playing quite poorly in the back half of the schedule.

I stand by my picks overall, Only thing I can see wrong for me, are if the Ravens have Lamar and he goes off, that would be bad for the Bengals. Ravens haven't been as great without Lamar and I always bet QB. Burrow should be able to win that game. And as I said, I think Chargers/Jags is a coin flip. I like the team Jacksonville has built and I love Doug Peterson as a coach, but Herbert could go off. I'm not sold on Lawrence being show ready yet to show up and hang with Herbert if he's popping off. TB Dallas is another one. Dallas should beat Tampa, they're the much better team overall. BUT you don't write TB12 off in the post season. In the 19 times Brady has made the playoffs, he's gone home winless 3 times.

And with us locked into the 8 pick. We have IMO a few options according to mocks I like

1. Myles Murphy.
2. Will Levis
3. Jalen Carter (seen him mocked here, but cannot imagine he falls this far)
4. Will Anderson Jr (again cannot imagine he falls this far)
5. Stroud (he'll be off the board)
6. Peter Skoronski - Someone who the Combine I think will determine where he falls,
7. Bryan Bresee - I'm not sure about him, I've seen some rank him over Murphy and some lower. I don't know where things are at yet.
8. Young (Will be gone, don't really want him either because of his size)

THen I've seen mocks where we take a CB, WR, or RB and I rioted at those. We have too many line holes to draft anything other than a lineman or QB.

I can change this later, but looking now, that's basically the 8 guys I want atlanta to take, none of them are stretch picks, all are quality prospects.

For sure, this isn't last year's draft where there was meh, realistically speaking, the only person from this draft who's popping now is Sauce Gardner. Some guys coudl be quite good like Garrett Wilson, Hutchinson, and some others will show up later. BUT it's probably not comparable to next year where it looks like we could have 3-4 legit strong DLs as well as 2-3 strong QBs.

I don't see how anyone could say they aren't an overwhelming favorite.

People are looking into the Raiders game and the first couple of drives against the Cardinals way too much.

Niners are top 4 teams in the NFL. Brock Purdy is going to get a hell of a test here. We'll see if he can shine or not.

No question about it that he could turn into a complete pumpkin and the niners only win a game or two. That is the ultimate deciding factor but even if he is average I think niners win the super bowl.

Who even comes close to this level of top end talent?

Offense:
CMAC
Kittle
Deebo
Aiyuk
Trent
Juice

Defense:
Bosa
Armstead
Warner
Greenlaw
Ward X2

Niners have multiple players on each side of the ball that can WRECK a game.

Bills

Bills have the best of basically every position

Not going to pretend to know the details of the Bills roster so I'll have to defer to you since you are a much bigger football fan.

I just know I've seen lots of great niner teams and this team is easily the best since 98 and maybe 94.

Niners are super talented. If Jimmy G was healthy, I would put them to win the NFC. Right now I have them as kind of a coin toss with Eagles. I think the Niners are a more complete team. But Eagles IF they have a healthy Hurts are awesome. If the Eagles don't have a healthy Hurts, then they're ****ed and the Niners should win the NFC.

Dallas could play spoilers. They're a team full of individual talent and if Dak doesn't **** up they can run with anyone. But they also could be bounced right away.

IMO ideal scenario for the Eagles is Giants upset Minn. Cause they can beat the Giants easily enough to get things going forward for them.
