Lol cool story.

He clearly is not a bum. I never compared him Lamar, other than saying they both are injury risks due how they play.

He clearly has progressed a lot in a short amount of time this year. Since week 3, he has completed 61.1% of his passes for a 10/3 TD/Int ratio. He has 15 Total TDs over this span. Here's a list of QBs with more total TDs over that same span:

Patrick Mahomes
Joe Burrow

That's it.

Nice selective stats.

So first off, Fields hasn't had a bye week. While nearly every other QB has. Secondly, it is great that he can score TDs, against Dallas who's not really trying, Miami and Detroit. Miami and Detroit are bottom third defenses. Dallas has a good D but he scored. But throw that aside, he dropped back 27 times and threw for 151 yards. Dak dropped back 1 more time and threw for 100 more yards.

Lol and I'm the one selecting stats?

Even if you were to take out this week, there would only be 3 more QBs on that list. Not to mention, he's doing all this with probably the worst collection of skill players in the league around him (at least before Claypool came over).

And again, I'm not claiming him to be a top QB in the league (though Dan Orlovsky thinks he should be in MVP consideration if he keeps playing like this). But he certainly isn't a bum.

Fields rank in DYAR - 33
Fields rank in DVOA - 33
Fields rank in YAR - 33
Fields rank in VOA - 33

That's really dragged down by his first 4 games of the season. He was quite terrible in those.

There's also the fact that the offense he's on has zero talent outside of him. They can't open up the playbook because they legitimately don't have the people to run all the plays. Their leading receiver is Darnell Mooney. Their RB is David Montgomery. He wouldn't see the field on a lot of teams.

The last 6 weeks, Fields has been the entire Bears offense.

That could be fair.

If ANdy Dalton was the worst QB at the bottom of the league last year. With Mooney and Montgomery but while bad, Dalton was much better at passing than fields.

And Andy Dalton is not a great QB.

Zito, I get wanting to not give up on your take but Fields has clearly taken the next step. Come on man.

I mean he has improved he's not longer dead last. He's just right at the bottom.

I'm not gonna say someone is playing well when they have thrown for 200 yards or more once this year. ANd only 5 times in his career. Career 5.24 NY/A. Falcons defense Only 2 QBs haven't hit at least 200 yards vs. the Falcons, the other is PJ Walker. Bears entire offense vs. the Falcons racked up 288 yards. Lowest by almost 50 yards.

The Falcons are so poorly run. They insist on sticking with Mariota in spite of the fact it's clear they're going nowhere and need to find out what they have in Ridder.

They'll end up with a top 10 pick that they'll waste on a long snapper or something.

Go full Raiders and draft a kicker in the first round.

Striker did you honestly think they’d be competitive ?

They were gonna win Sunday except for the great play by the DL.

Not at all. I don't want them to be competitive. They need high draft picks. The problem is how many holes at core positions this team has. They need a pass rusher, they need a franchise OT, and they need a QB. They've needed these three positions for the past 2 drafts and have spent the top pick both times on pass catchers. And it's really showing.

Honestly, I don't have much hope for the Falcons for the next several years. Yes they'll have some salary cap come free but they aren't going to be able to fill those holes by throwing money at them. They needed to have been drafting and developing talent there for several years now. If they start it now they'll still be several years away.

Also, the fact that Arthur Smith keeps running Mariota out there is insane. Ridder should be out there getting reps. He's probably not the answer at QB but giving him the reps Mariota is getting would at least tell you that if it's the case.

Boy is the NFL kind of a joke. Looking at the teams with some advanced stats it seems like the league is

Top of the league - Eagles and Bills
Next group - Niners, Cowboys, Ravens, Bengals, and Chiefs
Good but flawed teams - Dolphins, Jets, and Seahawks.

Then we have everyone else real ****ing tight.

Final tier - How did they get here - Vikings. Seriously, the VIkings are on pace to be the number 2 seed in the NFC, but they're no better than the Lions. They've won one game by more than one score and were blown out of the water by the Eagles, Cowboys and Lions. They're a few bad bounces from being a sub .500 team. DVOA they're 21st in the league, 10th in the conference, 3rd in their division.

So looking ahead to the playoffs, the best best I have would be a Philly/Buffalo superbowl.

Nobody actually thinks they have a chance against my niners this year do they?

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES

That being said if I was putting money down now, I'd go for the BIlls. Niners are firing at the right time But I think this is Josh's year to finally turn it up a notch.

My only worry for niners is always a QB that can run. Hurts scares me. Ultimately though, the niners just have too loaded of a roster not to win. There is no weak spot on the roster.
