IMO, Chargers seem very likely to trade out of 5.

I know everyone has them taking Nabers/Odunze now that Williams and Allen are gone. But they still have Palmer who was ascending before getting hurt last year, and last year's 1st round pick, who played terrible, but still has loads of talent. The Chargers have several holes to fill and not a lot of cap space to do it. I think the Chargers trade out with Minny as Minny moves up ahead of NY to take McCarthy. Given the needs of the teams from 6-10, there is a very good chance either Nabers or Odunze or both are there at 11 for the Chargers. If not, Brian Thomas Jr, Adonai Mitchell, or Brock Bowers should be there.

IMO, the only way they stay at 5 is if MHII falls in their lap.

NGL- coupled with a solid draft, this could be a MONSTER offseason for the Falcons. I like everything so far except the backup TE signing.

So who bucks trends in the draft?

Drafts are largely consensus so far is Minnesota trading up for a Quarterback but that QB being McCarthy.

Basically in non-trade mocks it goes
Williams
Maye
Daniels (we'll get clarity on this closer to draft, you always know who goes 1 before the draft)
MHjr
Nabers
Odunze (there could be flipping in them)
Alt
Turner

If Giants or Chargers trade out with Minnesota Bears will be in an amazing situation. As they'll get the QB they want and a great WR prospect.

I think the only potential wild thing that could happen is if the Baers say screw it, and draft a WR with their frist pick (potentially pick swapping with Pats or Commanders if they can do it right)

That's the buzz on sports radio up here in the Twin Cities. I really love McCarthy and think he has a ton of untapped passing talent, but I can't believe he's a top ten guy (of course, I don't see Jayden Daniels as a top ten guy either). McCarthy's football instincts are unbelievable. Some mechancial issues to clean up. Curious to know if #11 and #23 picks would be enough to get into top three territory for the Vikings (I don't have my Jimmy Johnson chart with me). For what O'Connell runs, Maye would be ideal.

Chargers could still get a solid WR at #11 or trade down again and get one with a better slot value.

Nope. Top 3 teams all need QBs. In the off chance the Bears trade out of 1, it will probably be with NE or Wash, and the Bears will take MHII.

I suppose it's possible that New England isn't enamored with Daniels or McCarthy and could look to trade back, but given they just traded away Mac Jones, they seem like they are all-in on QB at No. 3.

Woerner is a fantastic blocking TE and has the ability to make some tough catches too. Should help with pass protection quite a bit

I mean what Woerner is asked to do in atlanta isn't much. He's basically being asked to be what Jonnu SMith was asked to do for a lot less money.

Not trying to argue he is relied on for anything. Just saying that trying to discern any value coming from him seems odd since he did next to nothing with Niners his three years.

Walker did a solid job behind Vernon all those years.

If you are a good player you dictate your usage IMO.

Kittle is a better TE than Davis. Davis was more talented, but he never eclipsed the 1000 yard mark and Kittle has done it 3 times and would have a 4th if healthier in 2020 or 2021

I get it but even with teams with good TEs the secondary gets more action than Woerner did.

Perhaps. most teams that use a second TE though don't have a FB they use. Not a lot of playing time for a second TE when you regularly use a FB unless you're going to a big formation.
