He looked good against a good defense
Looks like the 49ers finally fixed the right side of the O-line.
Purdy #1 rated QB in PFF after week 1.
It continues.....
That Anthony Richardson throw was something else
And they said Danny Dimes played better than Jalen Hurts. PFF grades aren't the bible.
QBR has him 5th which I think is pretty fair for his performance.
I'm not going to dog on Purdy, but I will dog a bit on PFF. They seem to jimmy their grades around to promote certain guys, especially college players leading up to the draft.
The Purdy is a game manager stuff is silly. Hes better than that and a pretty good QB.
But Deebo certainly does not look shot and Aiyuck was fine outside of the drop. He does have weapons and is still a good QB.
Certainly not a top 3-5 guy though
He is useless as a running back at this point and is an awful route runner. Jennings does a better job at finding crease in coverage.
Deebo isn't a running back he's a gadget play threat. Using him as a RB is a great way to injure him.
Route Running isn't what makes Deebo amazing, it's his ability to shed tackles and turn short plays into chunk plays. When you look at his stats is average catch distance was 3.8 yards but his average yards after catch was 7, 3 times more than Kittle or Jennings.
Deebo is still running on his 2021 season. Its not consistent or as impressive. They drafted Pearsall because they know this and I'd suspect this is Deebos last year with niners unless he does another restructure with less out year value.
Niners don't need gadet or YAC for chunk yards. Purdy is one of the best at the league in throws 10-15 yards down the field and we saw the same thing on Monday against a very good secondary.
Give Purdy a better offensive line and he will pick apart defenses with less weapons and let Shanny/Turner identify backs in the late rounds. Niners are going to be real good for a LONG time.
I agree Deebo's time in San Fran is coming to a close unless he resigns but he won't be cut most likely as all his salary is guaranteed next year and his contract voids after the season. so they'll save a little cap but odds of replacing Deebo even if his skills are diminished for what they save is basically null.

Jennings was, I believe, the No. 1 WR in yards after contact as a senior in college. Obviously the NFL is different than college, but he's likely better than the average NFL WR at gaining YAC.
