REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Griffin needs to learn to protect himself. Only watched a few possessions yesterday and saw him take at least 2 unnecessary hits. He's Vick when it comes to pocket presence, he holds the ball until someone's on top of him.

I said this all year last year and the of season. His pocket presence is sub par.that's why IMO he is behind the other qbs not only now but long term. RG3 takes more hits in one game than Kaep does in a season.

That's clearly a thethe statement. Kaepernick is also aided by a pretty terrific OL. I'd love for Ryan to have Smith and Staley. Ignore the guards just Smith and Staley.

Funny thing is that football outsiders consistently ranks the 49ers offensive line to be middle of the road while atl is at the top.

RG3 hasn't "started to look good throwing the ball," he is a good passer. 66% last year with over 8 yards per attempt and only 5 ints. You put way too much stock in watching games early in the year when he was playing on one leg.

Either way, our interior O-line is pathetic. He was getting hit before he could even get back in his drop. I've never seen so many defensive tackles get sacks and pressures on a QB as I've seen the last 3-4 games. If he's not getting sacked, he still has no pocket to step up into and make a throw. The 2 guards and center for some reason, just dropped off a cliff this year.

I've never put much stock into offensive line stats as more often than not they're aided or hurt by their QB. Ryan's quick decision making has much more to do with the Falcons sack rates than his OL. Watch a Falcons game, the number of times Ryan doesn't have someone in his face in about 3 seconds or someone near him is probably lower than the number of times that he does.

Bu-bu-bu-but the Redskins are better than the Lions!!!

Just out of curiosity. If you had to pick a QB for the next 10 years (aka basically remove Brady, Brees, and Peyton because they're old) how would you go?

For me I'd go

Luck
Rodgers
Ryan
Stafford
Kaepernick

Luck, Rodgers, Kaep, Ryan, Stafford is it for me.

I think most would agree with the top two.

Somewhat but his OL gave him no time on a few plays.

He had one play where it was 2-3 seconds on a sack, he does take some nasty hits though.

He looked good throwing it last night however.

His OL wasn't doing him any favors but one play I'll highligh there was a play where he bootlegged to his right there was a TE in the flat, nothing developing down field and he checked hit TE, checked his downfield, checked his te, checked downfield then dumped to the TE taking a big hit in the process. RG3 excels at YPA which giles fan loves because of situations like that. Sometimes it works out pretty well, for him. But that's kind of his thing. Sticking in the pocket and taking hits while waiting for plays to develop.

3 - Kap

4 - Staff

5 - Wilson

That would be my top 5 if you're looking for the next 10 years. If you change it to the next 5, then the list would look different and I would include ARod and maybe Ryan.

Rodgers will still be elite in 10 years. He is the best QB of all time and will be so for at least another 7-8 years. Just look at what Peyton/Brady are doing at their ages.

Also Kaep > Cam
