REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Exactly the way I thought the forty whiner fans would react.

It's par for the course really. Got hosed in New Orleans and subsequently lost HFA in that game. The refs make the right no call in that situation and we host the game.

Yeah and I'm sure the Niners won games where thehy got calls. Hell if Harry Douglas didn't hand the ball off to Bowman or whoever it was, they would have lost to the sorry Falcons and not been in the homefield hunt. Seattle was the better team, stop crying.

I agree with what you are saying as a general statement but you can't compare a play on the field with a call from a ref.

Not crying. I know the NFL is a pre-determined league.

I'll never forgive Bailey because last year he missed a FG that would have won me the (FFB) game and instead got me a -1 For the L.

Jerrah Jones guys sure don't go hungry! That is one dumb azz contract for a kicker....

Dude, a conservative of all people should know better than to believe the media, in this case BSPN. The contract is worth about $20 Million over the entire life of the contract, which is like 6 or 7 years. Bailey's as good a kicker as there is in the NFL right now. He's literally the Cowboys most reliable player (in a good way). He got paid about 1/2 as much this year as he's getting in his new contract (around $3M/year now) so he's literally getting about $1.5M a year more than he was getting. This is just another example of a dumbass journalist who just took the penises of the "real NFL teams" out of his mouth long enough to write a BS article. It's just like talking about how much over the cap the Cowboys are, once they restructure 4 or 5 contacts and then 3 or 4 more, and they'll actually be under the cap. Jerrah's an idjit to be sure, but they're literally even worse. This is NOT a bad contact and as a Cowboys fan believe me, I DO know what those look like.

Though I do agree with that statement last year, NFL clearly wanted a harbaugh bowl and boned the Falcons :YDS:

Dude, I've started 2 or 3 times to address all this, but I just don't care enough. Any fans of any team that gets as many BS calls as the 40whiners get every week who never say a word to blast the officiating when it's in their favor really don't have any room to bitch about 2 or 3 borderline calls when they go against them. They outplayed Seattle for about 3 quarters of the game before Kaep imploded, I honestly think it's a case of them believing their whiny little Tom Coughlin-wannabe HC. They had every opportunity to put that game away while they had the momentum but they didn't. Now it's time to start paying the piper salary cap wise.

Trust me, as a Cowboys fan I know what rabid, "our team should get every call, every break, every win, every everything" fans look like, especially during the Tom Landry days. They literally made me sick to my stomach back then. Now that you guys have to start getting the checkbook out it's gonna cut into that depth quite a bit, don't you think? Oh and it isn't just you. Do you really think Bennett and Avril (just to name 2) will be back with Seattle next year? Things can change really fast in today's NFL. Oh and don't feel too bad, they're gonna put up a mine field around Peyton, if they even look at him they're be hundreds of flags thrown in that game.

It's always about story lines. Once Lewis announced his retirement last season, it was a lock for the Ravens to win it all. The brother bowl was an added bonus.

Lions GM Martin Mayhew admitted that "there certainly has to be some work done" with Matthew Stafford.

Stafford's completion percentage has dipped three consecutive seasons, falling from 63.5 percent in 2011 to 59.8 in 2012 to 58.5 this past season. He also turned the ball over a career-worst 23 times in 2013, while his footwork remains shoddy. The Lions have brought in some quality men to work with Stafford. New coach Jim Caldwell has a history with quarterbacks, and new OC Joe Lombardi spent the past seven seasons with Drew Brees. We remain high on Stafford for 2014.
