REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Sorry. Rereading that, I see it came out very assholish. Was aiming more towards friendly banter.

I apologize for that.

Apology accepted. I look forward to having more friendly banter during hte season. Maybe I should have recognized it earlier.

Falcons lost their starting LT for the year again. Puts Holmes in the lineup likely at RT, but he is terrible at every position.

OL will be an issue again it seems. After signing his long term deal he has played a grand total of 4 games. No guarantees money after this year though.

Why wouldn't they use Carimi? Not that Carimi is anything special, but he can't be worse than Holmes right? Oh well.

ANother year for th eFalcons to draft an OT in round 1 I guess. Wish they signed Clabo in the offseason. Could still bring in Levi Brown or David Stewart for a veteran presence in the battle and improve depth.

Carimi hasn't played in weeks, bum ankle. He could play, but Atl likes it's homegrown guys. Brown is probably a guy I can get on board with...

Brown and Asamoah would make for a mean right side of the line. Jackson would be better running to th eright then the left, that's likely the case.

I still don't like Holmes. I keep going back to his draft report.

"Bad-bodied — high-hipped and carries too much fleshy weight. Plodding grunter — strains to move and appears very stiff in the hips. Spends too much time on the ground. Struggles to adjust to moving targets or initiate contact on the second level. Raw technician. Falls off blocks. Works predominantly out of a two-point stance in a pass-first offense."

So are we now already going to hear the same thing from Falcons fans as we heard last year? That there were too many injuries to win?

Not much, I believe IIRC his cap hit for next year is like 7M but if we cut him its 9M So i think they'll give him one more shot but who really knows.

Gotta hope Kap stays healthy all year. Not good on the depth chart behind him. Almost want the Niners to try and trade for Barkley or Sanchez from the Eagles... and I hate Sanchez, so that is saying a lot.
